Here in the U.S we drive on the left hand side of the car and and the right side of the road and use our right foot to work the gas and break....my question is....when you are in countries that drive on the left hand side of the road, do you drive on the right hand side of the car and do you use your left or right foot for the gas and break???
Can anyone help me out with this?? Not that I'm going anywhere to have to worry about it....it's just a little nagging thought that has been taking up room in my brain. Matter of fact...after just writing this....I'm more confused and I really think I need a drink!! :rotfl2:

I don't have an answer about the gas pedals, brakes and so forth but I have heard that there are a lot of moped accidents in Bermuda due to Americans not being used to driving on the opposite side of the road.

Yea....I have heard that too.

Anyone else out there know about this??

In a right hand drive car (which is what is driven in England and many Commonwealth countries), the foot pedals are the same, but the levers on the sides of the steering wheel are often reversed. Switching from driving in one country to another isn't that hard b/c you're always steering on the side that is closest to the center of the road. i.e. it's easy to orient yourself. The turning indicator, windshield wipers and lights might be reversed, but if you turn on the wrong one it's not really a danger, and you get used to it in a while.

I asked my mom and she said you sit right side of the car and use your right foot.

And about Bermuda: I was there this summer on a cruise. The cruise line strongly discouraged the passengers from renting a moped because it was so dangerous. It was crazy. I think the Americans were almost being too careful. They would go slow and almost get run over by cars. The Bermudians were zigzagging in and out of cars and it was crazy. I saw one moped almost get run over by a delivery truck. It was very scary, I tell you. LOL.
