FYI - the Grandstand pool bar is only open until 5 if I recall correctly. Paddock's pool grill is more extensive and open longer but farther from the main pool.
Good to know, thank you. I'm thinking October will still be fairly warm so we'd need drinks and food after 5 pm.
..And the grandstand refill station does not open before noon so morning refills are not possible.
Most of Grandstand has golf course type views. 2 of the buildings are as close to AP/Turf Club as Springs, but 2 buildings are farther and require a trek across the parking lot to get anywhere...
Paddock is more on the public edge of Disney and some views are more busy (ie the "fire station" view). I still think I would overall lean Grandstand, but as someone who likes variety I would request Paddock my next time (as I would like to try the new feature pool and dining)..
Do you know the building numbers of the closest buildings at Grandstand?

I have requested specific rooms at the GCV.
Thankfully it worked out but it's a small resort. I will take your advice and go with either Garndstand or Paddock. Congress Park holds no appeal for me. I'd rather have a pool or gold course view. At this point, our biggest priority is what you said, location to the main areas and a good pool with services. The kids will have more freedom this trip so I'd like to make it as stress free as possible for me.
Is that the $50 card? We haven't been to WDW since May 2009 so I'm rusty on a lot of the perks there.
Originally we were going to do half SSR half THV. Then DD suggested AKV. So the decision changed to SSR/AKV. Guess what?
