Totally Last Minute Spring Fling! No DDP, Tons Of Pics! COMPLETE!

You have me 100% convinced that I am getting the 4 cheese pesto pizza when we go to WPE (1st time visit) this summer! It sounded good when I read the menus but your photos and endorsement convinced me!
And that creme brulee cheesecake looks amazing as well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!! :woohoo:

All caught up and I am hungry! I just got off the Disney site...I had to add Rose & Crown to our adrs...it was the pickle that got me!:thumbsup2

I wonder if I should do lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express on my first day at Disney World even though I'm eating at the Wave that night. That place looks like an awesome place to eat.

OMGoodness!! That meatloaf sandwich looks to die for!! And I am definitely getting the cheesecake. That looks so bomb!! :thumbsup2

Another fantastic post, girl!! popcorn:: :goodvibes

Oh Kona, how I miss you  I'm a Mac-Pine Pancake person. I thought I would love the Tonga Toast, but the first morning we were there I tried it at Capt Cooks and I thought it was just okay. So our first Kona morning I tried the pancakes instead and I was hooked. The butter is just so delish and the pineapple makes it so yummy too, but it is really amazing how good the plain pancakes are! I don't know how they make pancake batter so melt-in-your-mouth-wonderful, but they do.

We are staying at POFQ and have a few lunch trips to DTD planned. I want to try EoS and of course WPE. I didn't even know they served breakfast, so that will definitely be on my list too.....if I can tear myself away from Kona that is :thumbsup2

Looking at your report is making me absolutely starving - your waffle sandwich and the ooey gooey toffee cake look great. And I need to spend more time dining at Kona and WPE!

Great reviews and pics - can't wait for more :)

You're going to love the pizza and the cheesecake! They are both amazing. So far I haven't found anything at WPE I haven't liked, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you choose. I hope you enjoy it on your next trip! :goodvibes

I hope you enjoy R&C on your upcoming trip! The pickle was incredible!

I much prefer WPE over The Wave, so my vote is for WPE. :thumbsup2 Hope you can fit it in to your schedule!

The meatloaf sandwich is soooo good!:love: You MUST try it! Ending a meal with the cheesecake isn't a bad thing either!

I love the Tonga Toast, but those pancakes really are amazing. I can't choose between the two now! They need to give you a small piece on Tonga Toast instead of the french toast on the Big Kahuna so that I can have both of my favorites. :thumbsup2

I've only had EoS once and I wish I had more chances to try it, but I have such a hard time picking that over WPE. Breakfast at WPE is fantastic! WPE and Kona are my two favorites for breakfast now. I wish I could eat at one of those two places every morning on vacation!

Great reviews and pics - can't wait for more :)

I'm totally starving everytime I finish a post! :lmao: I need to stop looking at food pictures all day! I think I could probably eat only at Kona and WPE at WDW and be pretty happy. They are definitely my two favorites!

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes More coming up tonight hopefully!

Today we were headed back to AK for the day and nothing at AK really knocks my socks off as far as breakfast goes, so we decided to walk over to WPE for our morning meal. WPE doesn't open for breakfast until 9am and we got there about 9:15am and the place was totally empty.

P1000870.jpg

We somehow managed to find a seat in all this chaos! :lmao: Now we must sit and wait patiently for our breakfast with only our bottles of juice to keep us company.

P1000869.jpg

The last time we came here for breakfast hubby ordered an omelette and when a server walked by carrying a breakfast pocket he started seriously regretting his choice. He debated over what to order this morning and I forbid him from ordering anything but the Breakfast Pocket because I didn't want to hear him say all day, "I wish I had ordered that Breakfast Pocket." :rotfl: I know my hubby too well folks. He listened to me for a change and he did not regret this decision. Here it is, the Breakfast Pocket with Scrambled eggs, peppers, ham, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough.

P1000871.jpg

P1000872.jpg

He loved it! He said it was basically a different kind of breakfast pizza folded over onto itself. He did order his with no peppers and they left off the onion too, which he wanted, but wasn't too upset about. He was a big fan of the breakfast potatoes too. He gave me one to try and oh my goodness, they were delish! They were really garlicy, which he and I both love. The more garlic the better, if you ask me. :thumbsup2

I ordered the Smoked Bacon Pizza with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and Ranch Dressing, but I ordered it without the Ranch Dressing. Not a ranch fan.

P1000873.jpg

P1000874.jpg

This is delicious and so huge! The bacon on it really is smokey and crisp. I love cheddar cheese on pizza, so this is definitely up my alley too. I love, love, love fresh tomato slices on pizza, so that just completly seals the deal for me. Absolutely perfect!

I like to think that I can pack away some serious food, but this was even too much for me. I had 2 slices left at the end. Hubby ate one and the other one got tossed. It kills me that I had to throw out a piece of this delicious pizza, but I was so full I thought I would burst! "Wafer thin mint" was all I could think at this point. :lmao:

WPE you've done it again! Love this place! I have loved every single thing I have ever ordered here. Yum!

We seriously thought about skipping AK this morning and staying at DTD all day to go to the movies and have more to eat, but we didn't and it's my one and only regret of the trip. It was a long, hot day at AK and we did stuff we've already done a million times. I love DTD and I wish we had spent this particular day there. Oh well, it's not like there's any such thing as a bad day at Disney World! :thumbsup2

Up next... An icy treat at Animal Kingdom!

mmmmmm Pizza looks awesome & it's nice to know it's so big! It looks like the perfect thing to split & still have room for an early afternoon snack. :lmao:
Ur DH's pocket looks good as well. :goodvibes

YAY!! For more WPE! Especially BREAKFAST! I am a huge breakfast fan and knowing that you guys loved both items gives me more ammunition to go to WPE more then once and more then one meal ;) Loving every drool-y bite of your food porn (okay, I know drool-y is not a word, but its the only one I can come up with for all the fantastic food you are showcasing here :lmao: ).

popcorn:: :wizard: popcorn::

You're killing me with more WPE!!! :rotfl2: I can only fit so many ADRs in my trip and that breakfast pocket looks amazing. I'm with you, leave the ranch off my pizza - otherwise I have to say your choice looked mighty fine as well.

I know what you mean about AK.. probably the least inspiring parks for me but DTD has so much to capture our attention and the FOOD!

Looking forward to more and you've already sold me on WPE!

Two people could definitely split the breakfast pizza. Hubby and I are gluttons and don't split anything, but normal people could definitely split it. :lmao:

You should definitely check out WPE for breakfast if you can. It's so delicious! Drool-y sounds like a word to me! :thumbsup2

 There's too much good food in WDW to ever be able to fit it all in one trip! I love AK, but I could use a new ride and a new food place in there for sure. All the food places I want are in DTD and Epcot, so that ends up determining most of our vacation plans.

Okay, you sold me. We now have to make room for a breakfast at WPE! Both of your meals look just amazing! Do they have sweet stuff like pancakes etc too? I am now going to look at AllEars for the menu :) Yum!

After our breakfast at WPE we headed to AK for the day and by noon it was getting way too hot and crowded for my liking and people were getting on my nerves today. I was getting a little bit crabby. Shhhh, don't tell hubby I admitted to being crabby. :lmao: We took the train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch since we didn't get a chance to on our other AK day. Here we are taking goofy pictures in front of the animal murals.

P1000903.jpg
P1000904.jpg

Oh goodness, these two crazy people look like they need a drink! :lmao:

We were going to grab some boneless wings at the one stand on the path from Africa to Asia, but hubby didn't really like the look of them once we got there. However, we spotted a Margarita Stand right across the path from the wings stand. Sounds perfect! Who needs food when there is ice cold booze! :rotfl:

I think this place had an actual name, but I can't find it. Here is the menu though.

P1000911.jpg

Hubby got the Strawberry Margarita

P1000913.jpg

I got the Triple Yeti Blast

P1000914.jpg

We both got salt on the rim of our glass. I love salt on my margarita! This was so good! Very fruity and refreshing on this hot day. I didn't taste a lot of alcohol in this, but it was still good. Hubby liked his too, but he wished he got the same one I did. The mix of the different flavors was nice, so I wasn't sharing! I do hate those gross paper straws though. :crazy2: However, it was hard to drink a frozen drink out of the side of the glass. I will definitely keep this place in mind on our next trip!

Now, get me the heck out of this park! I need a swimming pool, STAT!

Up next... Our first trip to Yachtsman!

You definitely have to do breakfast there! It is amazing! They do have sweet stuff too. They have waffles, chocolate chip waffles, and corn flake french toast. I have seen other people order them and they look amazing! I just can't pry myself away from the breakfast pizza, but I do want to try the french toast.

"Wafer thin mint" was all I could think at this point. :lmao:
HA! :lmao: Great reference! That pops into my head a lot when DH and I are struggling to finish dessert after a Disney meal!

Wow! Well there certainly are different strokes for different folks I guess, AK is my favorite park and I can't tolerate more than an hour in DTD! But seriously, AK has both my favorite park CS (Flame Tree) and my very favorite park TS (Yak & Yeti). But the park can definitely leave you feeling defeated when it's hot!

Greaaaaat reviews! More please! :thumbsup2

So glad you got the reference! :thumbsup2

I really do love AK, it's hubby's fav park too, but it was just driving me crazy on this particular day. We encountered a few very rude people and it was so packed with a lot of school groups that it made it hard to get around the park as easily as we usually do. I was just being a grump this day.

So, Yak & Yeti is your favorite park TS? We ate there within a month of when it first opened and we hated it, but it seems like the menu has completely changed since that time. I really do need to give it another chance. I think they were still working out all the kinks when we were there.

After some much needed pool time, hubby and I tried to decide what to do for dinner. We had a ressie for Yachtsman the following night, but I was really in the mood for it tonight. One quick phone call to WDW Dining and we were all set to go tonight instead. I loved how much easier it was to drive to Poly for our meal the other day, so I drove us again tonight. I parked at the Boardwalk since we had already decided we were going there after dinner anyway. It started to rain on our walk over to Yacht Club and I was seriously questioning my logic in not just driving us to Yacht Club. Fortunatly it didn't rain too bad and we arrived at Yacht Club without melting.

P1000916.jpg

This resort is beautiful! This was our first time inside and I was really impressed. I would love to stay here on a future trip! We found Yachtsman very easily once we were inside.

P1000996.jpg

We gave our name at the podium and they asked if we were celebrating anything and I told them yes, that we were celebrating hubby's birthday. Even though it was still a few weeks until his birthday we were celebrating it at this meal. We weren't going to do any Signatures this trip, but I told hubby he could pick one as an early birthday treat. This barely won out over Jiko.

A very friendly CM explained all the cuts of steak to us before she sat us and showed us the cool butcher's window where you could see them aging all the beef. I should have taken a picture of this. Shoot! The girl who sat us also asked hubby about his tattoo, which was pretty funny. He has the symbol for the band Metallica tattooed on his forearm and I honestly forget it's even there now. The CM noticed it and knew what it was and said she had a friend with the same tattoo, which hubby got a kick out of.

We were given our menus. Hubby's was a special birthday menu.

P1000917.jpg

Before I get to the food let me get my only tiny gripe out of the way. It wasn't a big deal or anything, but we were seated in this area that had dividing walls on both sides of us with a bench seat along the wall and a chair on the other side of the table. There was another table top in our little closed off section, so we were alone for a little while, but then they seated another couple right next to us and it felt a little too close for my liking. I could hear every word of the other couple's conversation and they were practically whispering. They also stared at me every time I took a food picture and I felt like I was annoying them. Hubby was sitting on the bench seat looking out onto the restaurant and I was sitting on the chair looking at... a wall and hubby. I told hubby at the end of the meal, "No offense babe, but I kinda wanted to look at something other than your face by the end of that meal." :lmao: Like I said, not a huge deal and other people might feel differently, but it felt kinda weird to feel like I'm sitting with strangers and staring at a wall.

On to the food! We were brought a basket of rolls to start.

P1000922.jpg

The onion rolls were AMAZING!!!! They were so soft and fresh and had a great onion flavor that wasn't too overpowering. The other rolls are sourdough, I think, and they were delicious as well thanks to the roasted garlic and butter.

P1000921.jpg

I used all that garlic. All of it. I even poured the savory liquid left inside the cup all over my rolls. Heaven! Thank goodness I'm already married because I don't think I would have had any luck catching a man tonight with my sexy onion/garlic breath. :lmao: Hubby ate an onion roll and put a little bit of garlic on it and I thought he would rave about it because that man loves him some garlic, but he didn't have too much to say about it. He didn't try a sourdough roll either. He was focused on the steak he had ahead of him.

I didn't plan on getting an appetizer, but hubby really wanted one, so we decided to split the Braised Beef Tortellini with Crispy Wild Mushrooms, Garden Radish and Flagship Cheddar Fondue.

P1000923.jpg

These were good. I'm not jumping up and down over them or anything, but they were definitely good. Worth $14. Probably not. If I was on the DxDP I probably would have enjoyed them more, but it killed me to pay $14 for 6 tortellini. I must say though, the mushrooms on this were totally delicious and I loved the strong cheddar flavor.

Now comes the best part. It's steak time!

Hubby got the monster. The 28oz Porterhouse with Smoked Paprika Fries.

P1000924.jpg

Sorry, not the greatest picture, but I didn't want to try and snap another one since I felt like I was driving the people at the next table crazy.

He ate this whole steak and the fries! He really liked this a lot. He ordered this Medium, but it came out Well Done. He was okay with that, but I think he would have enjoyed it more if it had been cooked the way he ordered it.

I ordered the 12oz Prime New York Strip Steak with Carmody Potato Gratin and peppercorn Brandy Sauce.

P1000925.jpg

Oh. My. Gravy. This was the best steak I have ever had! I ordered this cooked Medium and it came out PERFECT! This steak practically melted in my mouth. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I loved the sauce on it as well. I love that pepper flavor. And the potatoes, forget about it! Amazing! Love, love, love! The crusty, cheesy top was delicious and the potatoes were beyond perfect with my steak. I knew I wanted a steak but I didn't care which cut I got, so I based my choice on the side. I definitely chose well. The cut of steak and my side were fantastic!

Our server Samir, or Sam as he told us to call him, was excellent! He was right on top of our drinks and was so friendly and helpful. After he cleared our entrees he brought hubby out a birthday cupcake with a candle. After he set it down in front of hubby he started talking to me and while he was talking hubby took the candle out and shoved the cupcake in his mouth before I could get a picture of it. Doesn't he know better by now?! I need DR pics! :lmao:

We passed on dessert here because we had something else in mind for a sweet treat. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and I can't wait to come back again. It was so great to actually be hungry when we showed up at a Signature restaurant! Usually we only eat at Signatures when we're on the DxDP, which means that we would have already eaten one huge meal that day, but today this was our big meal. It was a very nice change of pace.

It was still drizzling outside when we left the restaurant so I had to shove hubby's souvenier birthday menu up my shirt in order to keep it from getting ruined. I definitely got some strange looks on the walk back to Boardwalk. :lmao:

Up next... Lots and lots of sweets!

Thanks for this Wonderful report!

I am a little confused about WPE. Years ago we bought a pizza from WPE, but it didn't have all that seating inside and the menu wasn't extensive. Did they change it or is it where Wolfgang Puck Cafe used to be?

I also at at Wolfgang Puck Upstairs and it had Wolfgang Puck Cafe below it. Is Wolfgang Puck Cafe now Wolfgang Puck Express?

I'm so confused...lol!!!

Side Note: We ate at Wolfgang Puck Upstairs with my hubby's co-worker and his wife (hubby was on business trip).

His wife said, "Wow, Wolfman Jack really knows how to cook!" She was SERIOUS! :lmao:
