totally bummed

I'd worry more about the humidity. :sad2: It was awful!!! In Texas we were 108 many days this summer but it wasn't anything like Fl. Saturday was nice though. Less humid & a breeze.

the humidity doesn't bother me one bit. im just so upset about the rain. especially since our orginal plan was to go this week...and this week the weather has been amazing! just my luck.
i'm actually wishing i could just cancel. :(

OK, I just looked at next week's forecast for Orlando. Partly sunny/partly cloudy, about a 30% chance of showers. You're 'totally bummed' and wanting to cancel over that forecast? Really? If that's the case, you'll never get to WDW, because that's the typical forecast for central FL for most of the year.

30% chance of showers does not mean that it's going to rain all day. Or even most of the day. It means there MAY be a shower at some point during the day. It's not going to close rides, and it's not going to interfere with the fireworks.

The single best piece of advice I can give you is to stop looking at the forecast, and stop thinking about the weather. You have a wonderful trip planned with the guy you love, and you're making yourself so unhappy that you can't even enjoy the anticipation of the week before your trip. Let it go. :)

OP, sometimes it rains. It sucks, but that's life.

If you won't take a trip unless you're guaranteed to have no rain, you'll never go.

Buy an umbrella (or a poncho), suck it up, and go on vacation.
Just came back from 9/16-9/27 and it rained every day. Some days for a few minutes--other days few hours...just make the best of it. We did. When you need a break-take one.
No, no, no.

Don't you know there is a magic weather bubble surrounding WDW that prevents all rain lasting more than 20 minutes?

And it never rains where YOU are. It rains somewhere else.

You must be mistaken.

;)

As previous people have said, it will probably not be raining all day. Truthfully, yes, it may be harder to get going out of the hotel when it's raining, but hey, at least it's warm rain, and the parks tend to clear out when the rain hits. Make the best of it, let it cool you down, go puddle jumping! :rotfl: Do be aware that sometimes rides will stop due to rain (not even Thunder) one of our travel groups got stuck on Test Track, and the cars were coming back soaked.

Even with that, I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip!!

I'm starting to freak out some too! The weather forecast keeps getting worse for the week we're there... We leave Saturday, the 8th and are there until the 16th. Now intellicast is showing "thundershowers" for the first 3 days and 60% chance of rain the first 5 days. I'm really hoping that's a 60% chance it'll pour for 20 minutes!

I know we'll have fun either way, but it would be a lot nicer to be dry ;) *and* I'm stressed about the camera - just bought a new lens. How do I take pictures in the rain with a camera that's not waterproof???? Please, oh please be wrong about the weather!

hahahahhaa i love that. thanks! :)

We were there Sep 24-Oct 01.

A week out, the forecast was cloudy with rain for 5 of those 8 days with no sign of sun. By the day before we went, there was only one forecast day like that - Thursday Sept 29, but it didn't rain at all that day, in fact we ended up with rain only one afternoon starting abt 3:30pm, absolutely poured down just as we were getting off Splash.

We spent an hour in the nearby gift shop and went out with ponchos once the heavy rain tapered off.

The Electrical light parade was delayed by about 1/2 hour, so was Wishes, but we stuck it out and glad we had.

Our plan was to end our rides with Splash then browse through the Main St shops, see Mickey & the Princesses until our 6pm ADR at Tony's. We did just that.

Arrive at the parks early and get your rides/attractions in before the possible afternoon thunderstorms andyou will be fine :thumbsup2

thanks! thats probably a good idea to get to the parks early. still hoping the weather changes though. i can dream cant i?

Like I said in the other thread, it's just rain. Be thankful Walt chose Florida and not Maine to build his park. You could be bundled up in parkas trying to walk to Thunder Mountain in snow drifts.

It..is...just....rain. You won't melt. You won't die. :confused3

I never understand this idea...it actually can make you very sick to be wet all day. Especially if you already have a compromised immune system. :confused3 That's why when people say "just throw your baby in a stroller and have fun splashing in puddles" I always have to wonder....but then I have a dd with respiratory problems (she's battling bronchitis that could easily turn into pneumonia right now) and a dh who has dealt with cancer for 7 years.

Someone mentioned in another thread about how people outside of Florida do not realize that when it says something like 60% chance of rain, it doesn't mean it's going to pour buckets the entire day.

I never understood the idea of how people think you can get sick from being wet all day. :confused3 I mean, what about those days where you're in a bathing suit playing in the water all day?

Rain? I am not sure I remember what that is?! If you see a family from Texas dancing in the rain - feel free to join us!:lmao: We have been praying so hard for rain here in Texas that there is no way it could ruin our vacation! I just wish I could bring a whole bunch of it home as a souvenier!

I remember being at the top of one of the slides in Typhoon Lagoon & looking out over the Orlando area. There were nasty clouds to one side of us and the man ahead of us said his wife & other DD were at another park and it was pouring. We were sure we'd get hit with the pouring rain too but we never saw one rain drop that entire day or night.

You just never know with the Orlando weather forecast so bring the ponchos & have a great time :goodvibes

i think it has more to do with getting all wet then going into air conditioned buildings.

There is some storm that is supposed to form near south Florida but they don't know where it will go so they are all forecasting around 40% - 50% chance cause they have no idea what is going to happen.
