Totally Bummed Out!

... don't give up. I JUST made reservations 3 days ago for my dates, and got almost all of what I wanted. I was able to get Crystal Palace.. Boma, Biergarten, Ohana, & Le Chefs. I could have had Coral Reef for lunch only.. but didn't choose that. I was even able to make a reservation for the BBB.. it's the one in DTD though I would have prefered the one in the Castle. I plan on calling and calling and maybe I can get a Castle cancellation.

Good Luck!!

Keep checking, even after you arrive. Go to guest services, call, stop at the restaurant when you are in the park and check for an opening or a later time.

Check out the thread here regarding Boma-a victim of it's own success. You may change your mind about going here. I wish we would have dined somewhere else! I was just there last week.

We ate there on Sep. 2nd and loved it. We'll go back in Sep. 2008. I highly recommend you keep this ADR!

We had a 5yo with us too and he was fine. He ate, played and made friends with the cute girl next to us! He also spent a lot of time talking with her dad. Afterwards he said the dad would have been mad if he had just talked to the daughter. Oh god he already knows to make good with the Dad and he's only 5yo, the girls are in trouble. The table on the otherside had a couple celebrating 20yrs of marriage. The next table over shared fried Oreos the chef sent over. Not only was the food good, but he atmosphere and company were great.

Thanks everyone! I'll definitely keep calling. Is there a toll free number? Please share it with me! I've been calling long distance!

Op, as I said on another thread: Call them and ask them what they have available for your dates. Pick the best from the free ADRs, so at least you'll know you'll eat!
Then keep on calling back to get an ADR out of your plan A list, and if you can get one of those, just cancel the other one!

When I was there in May last year, I had no ADRs and just went to guest relations each morning. It was just me, I was very flexible and got in at each restaurant I wanted, many times seated at a table for 4!

Thanks for the suggestion. Right now, all they have available are 9:40 pm slots. That is too late for us to eat...and WAY to late for DD8. Plus, we'd rather be watching the parades at that time. Maybe I'll get lucky and something will come available...I'm not giving up! :goodvibes

I'd try calling again, you may get something this time.

CRT is nice for lunch, we did that last year and have booked again for November. The food is better than breakfast and the characterr interaction as good.

Good luck!

I suggest calling each day while you are there since there are cancellations all of the time, especially for shows like Hoop Dee Do and the Luau. We managed to get into the HDD revue by reserving the morning of. Good luck!

Over time I have read few good things about the Luau, but my DW's friend and her husband just returned from WDW and thought the food was very good.

Don't discount some of the restaurants either, just because you will have your DD with you. The all have kid friendly menus, and sometimes I just let my DS14 order an appy as his meal if nothing else appeals to him.

Have you checked out the menus on allearsnet?

We have been going since DD was 2, she is 8 this year, and DS was 8 and they have enjoyed meals at Le Cellier, The Garden View Lounge Afternoon tea, Rose and Crown, and Marrakesh among others.

I just called a week or so ago and was able to add ADRs for our trip Oct7-14. I was able to get Artist Point, Ohana breakfast, Raglan Road and Turf Club--all for a party of 7 and at decent times.

Good luck!

You should check out menus on allears.net to see all the restaurants available and what they serve.

It's worth trying again. I was only able to get an 8:55 pm reservation at Kona on the night of our arrival, but I wanted something closer to 8:00. I called again two days ago and was able to get an 8:15 - perfect! (We're leaving in 12 days.)

So the moral is, keep trying - you never know when something is going to open up, since people cancel and change their ADRs all the time.
