Totally bummed about Conscierge Service

I had never heard about Conscierge service, nobody mentioned it even when I booked my holiday right thru Disney, now all I read about is the the great rooms and you can only do the Sunrise Safari with Conscierge at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am so disappointed.
Any suggestions?

I agree with andrews1. You should call and ask how much it would be to upgrade to concierge/club level - but also know that it's usually $100 -$150.00+ more per night for concierge/club level rooms, so be prepared!.

I have called to request an upgrade to Conscierge and have been told there's nothing for me.
My daughter will be really mad if she finds out she's missed the Sunrise Safari (she's a huge Hippo and Cheetah fan)

I've called twice already (we arrive November 2nd) and both times have been told there's nothing at Conscierge.
Believe me, had I known there even was Conscierge and/or the Sunrise Safari I would have booked that at the very beginning, I can't believe the Disney folks (where I called for reservations) didn't even mention it.

You should keep trying for the upgrade - sometimes there are cancellations that come up especially before the 45 day final payment for packages date when people decide to cancel and get their $$$ back without penalty.

That is definitely a time that can fluctuate, so just keep trying. I hope something opens up for you!

It may have not been available when you called. Just keep checking back with Disney and you may be able to upgrade to concierge.

There is also a limited number of spots on the safari and they fill quickly.

If I remember correctly, the Sunrise Safari is available for ANY concierge level guest, not just the folks at AKL.

Have you considered booking concierge level at another resort?

safetymom is also correct that it can fill up quickly...you might want to make sure it is available at all during your stay before you book the upgrade.

The Sunrise Safari ($55 pp) is only available for AKL concierge guests. There is another safari, called the Wildlife Discovery Safari ($45 pp)that is available to any AKL guest. Also, the Wayama (Sunset) Safari is avaliable to any guest of the AKL, as long as it is not full of concierge guests. It is significantly more expensive (like $160 pp). Good luck with your trip. We will be there in 20 days!!!

Also, no one ever mentioned concierge to me either, I found out about it thru the WDW website itself, when I called to book, I asked about it and got more info, before we decided to book it. Then I came here and found out more than I ever thought was possible to learn. You guys are so great!
