My parents have been receiving a lot of calls and presentation invitations from a company calling itself Total Access Vacations. They offer to take your unwanted timeshare ownership from you and in exchange provide you with concierge services for travel all over the world. Supposedly, they have been in business for over 28 years. My parents were anxious to get out from under their maintenance fees, so they signed on with this program yesterday. In Louisiana, they have three days to rescind this agreement. When they asked me if they had made a mistake, I started searching for online info about this company and program... and I became VERY suspicious when I could not find any reviews. I think it's highly unlikely that a company could be in business for that long and not have even a single review posted (good or bad) online. I could not find any info on TUG about them either. On their website, the company states that it is also called VIP Client Services. The web address I was provided is: http://www.totalaccessvacations.com

Does anyone have info regarding this company, or perhaps suggestions of where else I can look to obtain more information for my parents? I would appreciate any help you can provide!

Anyone on TUG would tell you to get out ASAP! They are scammers. Did your parents have to pay any money?

Depending on what your parents own, there is a Bargain sale subsection on the TUG message board. http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=55

Or you could list on the TUG marketplace

In business over 28 years, and no reviews...and no one here has heard of them. Doing a whois domain search is interesting.

It appears they are an operating company of Reservation Services International, A Ft. Lauderdale based company.

Generally, I don't think it is a good idea to do business with a company that call YOU, rather than you calling them.

Did they know that your parents owned a timeshare? How did they get your parents phone number?

I would tell your parents to get out of any agreement until they do more research on this company. A substantial number of these companies are indeed scams. If they are legitimate, there has to be information available on them...get an address, contact the Chamber of Commerce in the company's area, see if they have any information.

Also, how does this company make a profit? They take timeshares from owners, getting the owners out from under maintenance fees, and give them vacations? Something doesn't sound quite right to me.

Or this website looks just like the posted by Greysword just different name

traveldealssite.com

I found a link to an old thread here on the DIS that deals with another Reservation Services International operating company.

And on another website: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/resort-reservation-services-llc-c193396.html

Evidently, Reservation Services International does a lot of scams under a lot of different company names. As a whois domain search brings them up as being associated with Total Access Vacations, I'd run away from this deal as fast as I could.
