everyone says to visit Tower of Terror and Rock n' Roller Coaster first...but which one do go to first and which do u fastpass first? i would really appreciate some tips! thanks!

In the past, hubby and I have had the luxury of using my parents' tickets AND our tickets for fast passes. We'd use 2 tix for ToT fast passes, then the other 2 for RnRC fast passes. We'd wait in the short morning line for RnRC and ride that once (since we liked that ride much better.) Then we'd come back when it was time to use both ride fast passes.

Unfortunately, my parents don't really like DHS much, so they've decided they're skipping that park this year and going golfing instead. I'm now trying to figure out how to get on RnRC with no one to watch my daughter!!

RnR seems to queue up faster than ToT, so I would go grab a Fast Pass for ToT and then go straight on to RnR. But, as we like to try to ride these multiple times, what I would do is....
1. Beeline it to RnR. Grab a fast pass for RnR and then go ride it standby. Should be minimal wait.
2. Once off of RnR, go straight to ToT and standby ride it. Line should still not be too bad.
3. Once off of ToT, you may already be within your RnR fast pass time, so then you can grab a ToT fast pass. Go ride RnR.
4. Ride ToT once within that window.

Of course, now Toy Story Mania is in the mix, so it's now a ride it first thing type attraction, as well. So maybe instead of the second ToT Fast Pass, go get one for Toy Story Mania instead.

Personally (back when I could do these and from observations now), the queue outside of Rock and Roller Coaster is boring as heck. Inside is fine but standing outside is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Twilight Zone has a much more interesting queue outside.

For that reason, I'd FastPass Rock and Roller Coaster to get inside the building as quickly as possible and stand by at Twilight Zone.

We always FP RNR then just ride TOT. Usually there is less than a 15 minute wait first thing for TOT.

Just FYI, if you are planning to do the new TSM, you should now do that first. The mob of people heading to the ride and for FP first thing (last Sunday) was crazy. At about 9:15am, the FP return time was already after 11:30am.

this is exactly what we have always done. but im thrown this year. i have to fit toy story in there too. i havent figured out what to do. im thinking we'll bee line to toystory for the fast passes and then get in line at RnR, but i dont really know. im hopping someone doesnt want to ride Tot and they can go grab fast passes.

Us, too, we usually have no problem FP/riding ToT and RnR. We would FP one and ride the other, or vice versa. Toy Story has now thrown us a curve ball. I think, since it is new and so popular, we may make a bee line to TS, FP it and then had over to RnR and ride it first, then to ToT and ride it second. If the stand by lines have gotten long, we can always come back to RnR and ToT and FP them later in the day, or take advantage of one of the EMH at HS one night. I'm afraid if we use our FP on RnR or ToT and have to wait 2 hours for our next FP, TSM may run out. :confused3

This is also what we do. When we went a month ago, we didn't know anything about Toy Story, so we didn't put this into our planning. I don't know what we will do in October, because we LOVED Toy Story. But we also LOVE RNR. I guess we will go to TS first (since it was WAY more crowded than RNR or TOT the whole day last month), get a FP for later and then ride it. Then go as quick as we can to RNR, then ride TOT or get a FP for it, if it is time. Opening Toy Story messed up our normal DHS strategy. UGH!!!

We immediately get in line for RnR. We can usually get on the first or second train. As we leave RnR, we FP ToT. I don't think there is much difference in the return time if you FP before or after you ride RnR.

Sounds like we all have the same plan. :goodvibes
I read on another thread that it could be a 15 minute wait just to get FPs. Can you believe it? I was going to have my DH go get the passes and my parents and the kids and I could just walk casually over to ToT and RnR and meet him there. We'll probably be waiting for him for awhile.
It makes no sense for all of us to rush over to TSM with the crowds. My parents won't want to walk that fast and we can enjoy the sites on the way to the rides.

:thumbsup2 We FASTPASS ToT and ride RNR first. ;) ToT is a slow loading ride.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

We FP'd R&RC and then queued for ToT when we were there in April.

The FP's were moving very quickly for R&RC on the day we were at HS, so we thought we'd make sure we had them for this one and put up with the queue for ToT, which was good, as most of the queue is shaded, so we found it to be a little cooler for waiting in line :)

Just to let everyone know, Toy Story Mania has completely shifted the opening dynamic of the Studios. Whereas before, the entire crowd would make a left onto Sunset Blvd and head to RnR and ToT - now a vast majority head to TSM first thing. If you want to ride TSM with anything less than a 60 minute line right now, I suggest doing it first thing as well.

However, because of this, if you are just interested in RnR and ToT - it has now become a whole lot easier to ride first thing. So yay for that. :woohoo:

Which line is faster: single rider or fast pass for RnR?
It looks like fastpasses will be all gone by noon for TSM. But what about RnR and Tot? What time of day do they run out of fast passes lately?
