Hey everyone,

I am trying to decide between two laptops, and I was wondering if any of you out there can offer advice (especially anyone who might own one of them....). So the choices are [drum roll please  ]

Toshiba Satellite M70-DL4 OR Sony Vaio VGNFS7-40W :confused3

Thank you in advance for ANY help that you can offer :thumbsup2

Both DH & I have Toshiba Satellites (different models).. we haven't had any issues... when I purchased mine, there was a Vaio that was on sale, the salesperson steered me away from the Vaio (& not towards any other particular brand) He just pointed out all the open box Vaios they had in stock & said that he's seen alot of issues with them...

Good Luck!

I adore my Sonys. I've had two Sony VAIO desktops and one laptop and all three computers have lasted and worked very hard for me. :sunny:

Thanks for your replies drgnfly30 and Dakota_Lynn!

Anyone else out there?

We've had Sony VAIO for 7 years (ok, it's not our primary laptop anymore) and have never had a single problem. The only thing I'd say it that VAIO's are more awkward than other laptops when it somes to upgrading (i.e. you can't upgrade a VAIO from Win98 to WinXP - it's just not supported - and parts tends to be more expensive) which is why we went with a Dell laptop this time. Nothig against the VAIO though - lovely laptop and still going after seven years!

My DNeice has a Toshiba and has had nothing but trouble. She also has had terrible cutomer service. Just one experience..

OTOH, I have a HP Pavilion and love it.

I have used a Toshiba Satellite for 1 1/2 years and have had to send it in 3 times for repairs. I'm glad we have the extended warranty or I would have been really aggravated.

I have a Toshiba (dunno if it is "Satellite"), DH has a Sony.

We both like them very much.

The kids have to use the old, hunky, big computer - you know, the ones that required desks, basically. And they all want a Sony laptop.
