Tornadoes! Good thoughts please.....

Op, sorry your parents' house had damage, but glad they are ok.

Lots of wild and weird weather lately. We had snow flurries today.

Glad your parents are okay. In Gloucester, VA there were 3 deaths and more than 60 people were injured by a tornado.

I know what you mean. We are in Va Beach & I know last night we were watching a movie & you could see the EAS flashing on the cable box....we ignored it, I said, "we don't get tornadoes here". Next time I will surely pay more attention after seeing what happened just in Bertie, NC & Gloucester, Va. They think they were F3's. These are pretty close to us & the weather man even was talking about how things have changed now, that we can see tornadoes whearas before we never worried.

Did you see on the news in Gloucester there is Page middle school and some of the buses looked as though they were just thrown like toys?

It's a good thing it happened(if it had to happen) on the weekend instead of when school was in session or the kids were on the buses to dismiss,etc.

Thought I'd share some pics. These first ones are of my mom and dad's house and yard...

These are of my mom's friend's house, right down the road...

My uncle and his neighbor were on the news. It seems as if their whole street was wiped out. They live 1/2 mile from my parents. The tornado must have been jumping and not all the way on the ground when it hit my mom and dad's, because the damage on both sides of their house was much worse. Or maybe the tornado spent all its energy on the trees.

The tornado must have been jumping and not all the way on the ground when it hit my mom and dad's, because the damage on both sides of their house was much worse. Or maybe the tornado spent all its energy on the trees.

You actually will see this sort of damage quite often with a tornado. It will literally destroy some sections while leaving others untouched. I have even seen examples where whole subdivisions were gone except for one or two homes that were still standing. The weather can be a very odd thing.

Very scary...

Right now my thoughts are with those in St. Louis and those in the way of the line of storms about to go through Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and Southern Indiana... Nasty weather out there.

I know; it is CRAZY the amount of severe weather going on in the last few weeks!
