Tornado jitters.

Small world! We are around 20-30 min from Kingsport. It's been crazy here tonight. We hunkered down too. I think that we are coming out of it soon. Stay safe.

Be careful... another set of storms incoming to Kingsport =(... the picture that News 11 had was crazy of a funnel in Kingsport.

Wow, just heard that in Boones Creek they have a firetruck so damaged by hail they can not use them.

Worried about this last storm in Sevierville.

We are in a severe storm warning... keeping an eye on this last storm. It is moving SO fast and heading right towards Greenville... which means really close to us.

We have a severe storm warning, but the tornado warning has been dropped. This is great news because that means I can go to bed soon. I am exhausted. This has been an insane night and yet it is not over for so many people. I will enjoy the good weather the next few days.

They also showed some hail that was nearly the size of a tennis ball from the Bristol area.

I grew up in SE Missouri, and we got tornadoes pretty frequently there. I have never really been too terribly scared of storms, but I admit that these systems had me rattled. My hometown is not far from Poplar Bluff, MO, where the levee broke and all those people got flooded out. And now, living near the Cumberland River, I've been scared that we're going to get floods here in the Nashville/Clarksville area like we did last spring.

We were still under a tornado warning when I went to bed last night exhausted. DH stayed up to watch the weather. The wind was still blowing really hard when I went to bed. It kept waking me up as did the thunder & lightning. It's quite this morning. I'm getting ready to walk my dog so I will see if there's any damage. We had some hail last night but not as big as they had in Knoxville. My car, a convertible, was in the garage but DH car was in the driveway. We have a lot of trees around here so that can be good or bad.

There are still tornado warnings out this morning but more in the New England states. This weather is just unbelievable, especially for April.

CNN is reporting 158 deaths in Alabama alone in the past 2 days from these storms.

We made it! The storms were all around us but nothing right at us. Coweta County was hit hard again. However, the devastation in northwest Georgia and over in Griffin is just unreal! Hope everyone made it through that scary night unharmed!

Christian is sound asleep in his bed now. DH & I are going to be up for a little longer. I have lived in Georgia for most of the last 30 years and I don't remember having this kind of tornado event before. Oh,we've had some tornados, bad ones too, but not like this. Half the state is under a tornado warning and tornados are popping up like mushrooms above and below us. We're having the last of the line coming through now and I think by 1am we'll be done.

I was just saying this last night, Cathy. I've lived here all my life (47) and never have I seen anything like last night. Just the extremely large numbers of tornadoes and the extensive area covered makes it hard to believe. I hate to see the pictures as the day begins to dawn.

CNN is saying that last night's outbreak will most likely set a record for the number of tornadoes in a given night. We had one night we we had, I think, 54 tornadoes spawned from one front across SD and MN, I can't imagine MORE than that (which I am sure there were in the south).

Just checked outside. No damage that I could see by my porch lights when I walked the dog. Many schools around here are closed today because of the storms. The county over from us had damage to its high school & hospital. I guess when the sun comes up, we will look around more.

Another Kingsport resident here..wow what a night! I have the news on right now and there are 15 confirmed deaths at this point. I work at a local hospital and we called a tornado code last night..has to evacuate all the patients from their rooms to the hallway.I am exhauste dand headed to bed.Hope everyone is OK!

All family safe , they live in Al, Ga, and Tn. Our phone lines were burning up until late last night . Upon waking this am , learned a close family friend's house is gone in Alabama , wiped away : ( and one is missing the majority of his roof . All came out of it unscathed though and that is something to be thankful for ! My heart goes out to all!

I can't believe all the devastation in Alabama. It's just awful.

Wow. What a day we had yesterday. We didn't get NEARLY the weather they said we were going to get. It was a little intense for a while but nothing like the poor folks in Alabama and Georgia. My heart goes out to them.

We lost the top of one tree and my basement is flooded again.. It is a finished basement that we had to remodel from last years storms/floods. We have 2 bedrooms, a game room, bathroom and laundry room that are all ruined again. BUT we are all okay. Stuff can be fixed and replaced.

I am praying for the people south of us and everyone who was affected by these storms.

As of now I don't seem any real damage, but I have not actually headed outside yet. I am exhausted (finally went to bed about 2AM but didn't sleep well) and I have class tonight. Not sure how I am going to be able to stay awake.

This set of storms have been horrible. I am honestly shaken at what happened last night. Seeing the pictures and hearing the reports... I just... I just don't know. Greene County was hit pretty hard and they are just south west of us. No idea about any damage here in Jonesborough or out in Johnson City. There is a lot of damage out on 107 in Chuckey, TN including at least one death. It was a confirmed tornado according to the news. County schools are closed.

Those who are still experiencing the storms, stay safe. Those who are now cleaning up, be safe and bless you. So many need help now.

We are OK too, but we are all exhausted. We lost power for several hours last night and our stupid weather radio does not take batteries. What the crap is that?! So I was on the phone with my mom who lives an hour and a half from us who was giving us updates from her weather radio. Her power was also out.

Our schools didn't delay opening this morning, but I have not taken my kids yet. They are getting ready right now and we are heading in.

I am coming home and plan to watch TV to see just how bad it was. I did here that we had a large number of fatalities last night here in Alabama. It's just awful.

We made it through with no damage too. I heard that Glade Springs in VA got hit really hard too. It was really scary last night. I am glad to hear that you and your family are safe. I have a friend in Johnson City that she wasn't watching the news and didn't realize how bad it was.
