Tori and Dean- Anyone watch?

Thanks for correcting me! I just started the book today so I have a lot to catch up on. The movie I saw was where Tori was a housesitter for an eccentric old guy & her friends get murdered - here it's not the old creepy guy - it's Dean (the local water meter reader or something like that)! Or I think so anyway, it's been awhile since I saw it, and not sure I saw the whole thing, but I do remember Dean killing Tori's friend in a van!

I believe her mother is in control of her inheritence. I also seem to recall that she got a lot less $$ than her brother(s)

Randy and Tori both received the same amount of $$$ in the will.

In her book, Tori states how her father had no real idea of what was a lot of money. So despite being worth billions, he thought that $800,000 was a lot of money and a more than reasonable amount to leave to his children....hence the reason Tori got "shafted". I'm sure Candy may have played a part in creating the final draft of the will, but Tori makes it sound like the amount was all her dad's idea.

ok I'm sorry I keep replying separately...I'm reading then replying and then reading again and finding something else to comment on

In regards to Deans "daughter" (not saying it's good or bad or whatever - just sharing some info)...while he was married and having an affair with Tori, he and his wife were in the process of adopting a little girl. It was not complete at the time of their divorce/separation and Dean was never listed as an adoptive parent. So technically he is only responsible for his son, Jack.

yes he chose to leave his son and wife, however, Jack lives in Canada all the way on the other side of the country. They talk about him all the time (wanting a room for him, etc) so I'm sure he is not a totally absent father. Heck, my parents were divorced since I was 2. He lived 20 minutes away my entire life and I only saw hime 2 days out of the year.

if you google image dean there are pictures of him and his son and tori and liam, so he's obviously at least sometimes in his life. I was surprised that he has a son so old (not that the kid is old but a lot older than i expected). What is the book called? I wonder if I could take it out of the library. I should read the whole thread, I've only read the last few pages.

Just started watching this recently. I have never seen an episode of 90210 so all I 'knew' of her came from magazines like People.

She does seem real but also a flake ;)

What does Dean do for a living? And does it bug anyone else that he is always calling her Mama??

he was an actor, though after looking at his imdb he wasn't in anything i've ever watched.
From what I understand, he is pretty well known in Canada. Plus he does a lot of voice over work.

On several occassions (including her own blog on her website) -Candy is very quick to point out that Tori & Randy shouldn't have gotten a penny - that when a person dies the entire estate should go to their spouse (herself) and not the children. While I do agree that's true for the most part (if my husband dies it all goes to me, not my kids), she sure loves to point that out. I've never once seen Tori complain about the money she "wasn't" left when her father died.

I've also never seen Tori bash her mom. I've never seen her give details, but just that they didn't have a normal relationship. So I decided to give Candy the benefit of the doubt & read her blogs, website, articles about her, etc. While yes she is gracious & does wonderful things for charity, I get the impression she is ALL about impressions. She loves to make herself look perfect & wonderful. I know we only see part of the story on the show, and I do not know the facts other than what I read which may or may not even be true, but from what I've read about Candy, I wouldn't want her to be my mother either! Stuck up perfectionist snob is the impression I get!

I only read 1/4 of the book but from Tori's side (again, which may or may not be true) she just wanted a normal childhood & normal parents. Candy had to be perfect & have perfect children even if it meant they weren't happy. She had a nanny til she moved out (in her 20's) that she said was more of a mother to her than her own. She loved to follow to neighborhood maids around & help them because they were nicer to her than her mom. It made her feel normal. Every party, event & outfit was planned to a T of perfection by Candy which Tori didn't even care about. Tori even claims her mother told her she needed a nose job when Tori asked her if she was pretty. Nice response. Again, I have no idea what is truth or lies or somewhere in between, but I don't see Candy as mom of the year.

Just my opinion!

Is Dean the brother of Dylan McDermott...from Steel Magnolias and The Practice??

Ehhh...we've seen a couple episodes. I like Tori, but her husband doesn't sit well with me at all. He just gives me a weird feeling.

Actually Tori and Dean were in 2 movies together. The first (where they met) had "murder" in the title and then they did "Housesitter" - neither of which I've seen

I really sound like a Tori Spelling know-it-all :scared: I'm just remembering all the stuff I read in the book since I read it recently...

Hey Shannon! Does your last name start with a "D"?? :rotfl: j/k :)

I have become a fan...they seem like a pretty down to earth couple and a pp said it, but she never seems to bad mouth her mom although I am sure she'd have plenty to say.

If you read Mary Jo's essay in the book "The Other Woman", the adoption was not final but they had the little girl, Lola in their possession at the time that they were married. They day Mary Jo found out about Dean was leaving her, they were all on vacation with the 2 children. Dean claimed (in OK Magazine) that his new daughter, Stella, was the daughter he always wanted. Well, he technically had a daughter already (even though it wasn't official).

Does anyone know if Tori's friend Suzanne is an actress? She seems very familiar.

I saw one episode of it. It was when she went in for a c-section. Thought she was out of her tree when she wanted to have a party right away. Goodness. But she did seem genuine and nice.

Off topic.... I also watched the Denise Richards show. I saw 2 episodes. *hides face in shame*

Yes...I watch Denise, too, and I actually enjoy it! I was disappointed when it wasn't on this Sun. night. Is it over for the season or did I just miss this week's? That's ok....Brooke (Hogan) Knows Best was on. (Hiding my head in shame....LOL....)

I totally agree. Well I haven't read any of Candy's website or blogs, just what Tori has said and written. I guess if I had to pick sides, I'd pick "Team Tori".

Hey Shannon! Does your last name start with a "D"?? :rotfl: j/k :)

OMG! I had to read this like 20 times before I had any idea what this meant. :rotfl:

FYI - She spells it "ShannEn" - wierd

I stand corrected...but if they already had her, how come he was never listed as the father. Or was he and then it was removed?

I know in Tori's book, she mentioned Dean's "children" and then it switched to "son" so I was really confused there.

P.S. I watched Denise's show and Brooke knows best too...if it's a reality show with a celebrity, I'm probably watching it

He WAS listed as the father. He was removed. Mary Jo has stated that she released him of the obligation since it coincided with him leaving her.

I have watched a few episodes of the show as well. I didn't really have an opinion of her one way or the other before I watched but now I have to say I don't really care for her. She is to whiney for me.

Ahhh I see now...thanks for clearing everything up.

Some of you have posted that Dean is "creepy" or gives you the "creeps, etc. I'm just curious, could you explain what it is that makes you feel that way? Something he did, the way he looks, etc.? Just curious because so many of you have said similar things about him.

There is a mini-marathon on right now if anyone is interested or needing to catch up. Right now is "deep sea daddy" where Dean sets up the cabana for her at the beach while he scubas.

I can't help but think this is the 2nd or several marriages for both of them.
