Topolino's Availability

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I will be at WDW in late May for a quick trip (mostly due to the HS Moonlight Magic event), but are staying at Riviera. We love Topolino's but the availability lately has been completely nonexistent. Granted, I'm usually checking 4 hours after things open up each day, so it could be that they are gone by then.

I guess my question is has anyone had success recently in booking a dinner reservation there as soon as your dining reservation window opened up? If so, was it at the beginning of your stay or towards the end? The unfortunate part is the only day we can make it work is our arrival day, so that limits our chances as well. Anyway, think I'm just looking for some hope; otherwise I won't bother waking up at 3:45 local time in a couple weeks (although I'm sure I will anyway). Thanks!

While I realize that may be the earliest time you can check, you've seriously gotta go after this one seconds after your window opens 60 days out.

Getting it some other time after that means you are blazin' lucky and likely were hovering as someone canceled.

Not that lately, but at those seconds after our 60-day window opened for 3rd week of last November.

Friday night. We left in the morning. The only ADR we could get there, though we kept checking for breakfast.

The unfortunate part is the only day we can make it work is our arrival day...

Probably significantly less likely if you're arriving on Sunday or Monday. Ya never know.

Lots staying a full week start with first day and proceed day by day. Some have no choice but to go day-to-day. (staying off-property, local hoping to snag it--anybody not having that 60+10 advantage)

Anyway, think I'm just looking for some hope; otherwise I won't bother waking up at 3:45 local time in a couple weeks (although I'm sure I will anyway).

You can only give it a shot and hope Lady Luck favors you. Good luck! It has fabulous food.

If you can't get it, we consider Cali Grill a very similar alternative in service and quality. Somewhat easier to get.

BTW, some have reported they managed to get a walkup. Since you're staying at RIV, you might actually have a decent chance getting in that way.

We couldn’t get a reservation the morning our reservation opened during our December trip. It was our 2nd day. I signed up for mouse dining alerts. Every time I got an alert it was gone by the time I got into book it. Then we got lucky and a few days before there were some popping up available. People cancel the closer it gets.

People cancel the closer it gets.

If you don't get it before 30 days out, start trying right after.

That's when people often cancel trips so can free up ADRs.

We've often had better luck checking early on weekend mornings when people with any sense are at religious services or simply sleeping late.

My window opened up on Jan. 31st for our trip April 1-5th. I was able to get a reservation for the Saturday night of our trip. Only later times were available so not many choices, but the time works for us. I highly suggest being on as soon as your reservation opens up! Good luck!

We were able to get breakfast at Topolinos over the Monday after Easter (that is our 60+4). We saw several openings for Easter itself as well (would have been our 60+3)

We were able to get a reservation just a few days before using TouringPlans dining reservation finder. You do have to be ON IT when the alert comes in, but it really does work!

Thank you all so much - you've successfully given me hope!

And just to confirm - online reservations open up at 5:45 eastern, correct?

Yeah, you never know for sure.

Some report it did open then for them, others not till 6:00.

Part of the old Disney game, Keep 'Em Guessing.

My 60 day mark was today.... I was on at 5:45 and it did not open up until 6 on the dot. There were tons of glitches and system errors, which slowed me down. I found availability to be limited but I think we made out pretty well over all. The only ones I wasn't able to get were Topolino breakfast (no availability at all, and also very limited dinner openings) and oddly, Yak & Yeti had no availability for when we wanted to go. If anyone is interested in what we WERE able to get, we got the following, along with a number of other, easier to get ADR's:

-Space220 at 60+6
-Cali Grill at 60+4
-Oga's at 60+5
-Storybook at 60+7

My 60 day window opened up today and I could have gotten Topolino's for any day of my trip if I had wanted it. Late May might be a different story than early May with crowds though, so YMMV.

Dang! My window opened this morning and I was unable to get ANY Topolino's reservation AT ALL, even at 60 + 7. Tech issues slowed me down a little, though, so maybe that's why.

Sorry to bring back an older(ish) thread, but just wanted to provide a quick update:

Was able to snag a reservation on day 60 for four at Topolino's at 7:45pm; but I think this was a lucky event as there wasn't anything available at first, it just became available randomly a few hours later. However, I was also able to get another reservation on day 60+1 for two at 5pm - which is perfect as this is right before we (hopefully) go to the HS moonlight magic event. This was booked at 6am.

Morale of the story: there's plenty to worry about when planning for a Disney trip nowadays, but things seem to work themselves out, even if they don't seem to at first, so don't lose hope!

Dinner is not that hard to book if you try the first day it opens. It’s the breakfast reservation that is gone within the first half hour of opening.

I couldn’t get Topolino’s for my entire 7 day stay. Hoping something opens up, I’m checking everyday multiple times a day!

I just wanted to add that I was trying for Toppolino’s breakfast on one particular morning after our 1 night CBR stay two weeks ago. I knew the chances were slim because it was at exactly our 60 day mark before we moved over to BCV for the next 5 nights. Sure enough I couldn’t get it at 60 days and set several reservation finders but only got maybe 2-3 alerts the whole time and was never quick enough to get them. I had planned to try to get a walk-up that morning as a last ditch resort. Then the night before, I just kept checking at random. No alert from a reservation or anything and around 11:30 pm happened to find a party of 5 for 7:30 am! I was thrilled and grabbed it. I was nervous that it might be a little early for my crew because we had just driven in that day. A little after midnight I refreshed and was able to find an 8:45 am which worked great for us and I was able to modify to that time. We loved it and had a great meal! The sour cream waffles were amazing! I don’t know what they put in the whipped cream but I could have eaten a bowl of it by itself and I’m not a huge whipped cream fan! I know I was extremely lucky but I do agree with the advice to check the night before especially close to the midnight deadline for cancelling.

I’m so glad to see this. As we didn’t get Topolinos at our 60 day mark as well. Have several alert finders ‘on the job’ but I also check throughout the day randomly to see if we get pixie dusted!
