Topless on Castaway Cay

I love the adult beach on Castaway Cay, but really wish there was a small section where women could be topless.

I was topless on my balcony (it was a huge one near the back of the ship) for a bit each day and it felt so good.

Some of the large aft balconies are visable from up above.....as good as it felt for you there may have been others that enjoyed it as well!!! LOL!!!

We were on CC once when there was a woman topless....it seemed a bit uncomfortable for the CM to go up to her and explain that it was not allowed.

Someone asked about the massage cabanas...I go totally bare for massage. However, after the therarpist left the room and I got up, all of the windows on the front are open and people can look RIGHT into the room!!! YIKES! DH and I were VERY surprised....so, careful with that one too!!!

the adult beach is huge. as stated before there should be a section at the end of the beach. if you dont want to see it, dont go down there. knowing disney it will never happen

Section 12.4 of the DCL Castaway Cay Beach Attire Code, Revision DD now states: "The Disney Cruise Line, being an equal opportunity company, now requires ALL beach goers on Castaway Cay's Serenity Bay to be topless."

Let's be honest here - even on Orient Beach - some of those people should be in full-on cover! We went there on our last cruise and were slightly horrified....I just kept thinking, "Do they wash those chairs in between uses?"

I love America, but have never understook the nudity hang ups that this thread has thrown up and many Americans have. IMHO at Adult beach do whatever you want, family beach no nudity as the teens boys would never leave.

On our last cruise, when we docked at one of the ports - probably St. Maarten, we pulled up right next to a Senior German Cruise. It was au natural. We were made aware of this when my teen DS opened the curtains, shut them quick, then opened them up again to wake himself up from the nightmare of seeing the much older women and men on the upper deck sunning themselves....all of themselves.

Yes, imho you are 100% correct, who even notices what or what females wear up top.
But each to there own, and to be fair I would rather sit on an american beach than a european beach any day even if I do end up with 2 white bits

Actually, this is a new rule. The previous answers you got obviously have not heard about the latest revision to the code. Section 12.4 of the DCL Castaway Cay Beach Attire Code, Revsion DD not states: "The Disney Cruise Line, being an equal opportunity company, now requires ALL beach goers on Castaway Cay's Serenity Bay to be topless."

Really....seriously...it's in the code.

A year ago or so wifey and I ended up at the Adult Only beach of Castaway Cay and asked the staff if topless was OK. He naturally said "Sure mon... be happy."

We walked to the end of the long row of chairs farthest away from the entrance and did exactly that. I'm thinking she went swimming topless, again without being kicked off the island, but can't remember.

She also went topless on that back sundeck (the one no one knows about somewhere between decks 5 and 8 that has it's own stairs) without incident but we were back a bit towards the door so no one on the decks above could see. We've done several Disney Cruises and this back sundeck was a real find as we are always the only ones back there. If the sun is hitting it right, it's the best play to lay on on the ship!

We have another trip scheduled in November and we'll see how it goes. Regardless, I agree Disney should be more sensitive to their European guests and establish a topless section on Castaway Cay.

We recently put a pool in and we have no neighbors it is so private, and I have to say that I have started bathing topless.
It is great for no tan lines!!! Once I started I am hooked and would love to bathe topless at castaway but would NEVER want to be the only one.
I like the suggestion of going all the way to the end on the adults beach.
I doubt I will try it though.

Weelllll ... once at Serenity Bay, I watched a little spectacle of a group of college-aged kids who, by early afternoon, had had their share of refreshments. One young lady, wrapped in a towel, was able to get her bikini top back on without exposing too much. She would've made a contortionist proud. There were plenty of spectators who were mightily amused.

The adult only pool on my first cruise was clothing optional, but that WAS a French cruise ship.

You have to remember passengers on a cruise ship come from around the world, where customs are different. That's why for some the idea of tipping is so out of the ordinary too.

The other big difference I found on the French cruise ship was that the French have no concept of what waiting in line is...... for ANYTHING.

A girlfriend of mine is telling me that a part of Castaway Cay is topless, that someone she knows went on a Disney Cruise. I told her I have yet to Cruise with Disney but, I had never ever heard of this.

So what is the truth, I know the Dis will know.

SURE ... MEN CAN ....... but no they do not have a toppless beach they also do have the adult only beach but still not a topplesss beach

I just got back and NO it not topless,Its Disney they wouldnt do that

nope, no topless beach. there is the family, teen, and adult beach, but even the adult beach is not topless.
