Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

the schedule looks great! i always think wednesdays at MK are good b/c for some reason that day is always the least busy. i think people tend to head to MK at the beginning of their vacations (sunday/monday) or the end (friday/saturday), so the middle of the week is always good. the two times i've been on a wednesday it was DEAD. but of course that was in late april/early may! so i'm sure july is slightly different. if you decide on getting a kitchen sink i will be living vicariously through you. we were supposed to get one with anna, etc. in december 2008 but the wait was really long to get in so we didn't get to. i've had that on my mind since!!!

Your plans look GREAT! All seems right in the world now that you are going back to Disney! I don't blame Charles for having a tough choice b/w Teppan Edo and Tutto. I figure this way Chelsea gets the cute waiter advantage for her b-day... is she too young for that? If so then mom can indulge in the cute waiter goodness!

Oh the cheddar cheese soup! I just learned on another report that you can get the soup and pretzel bread to go... who knew??

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans in this compressed planning period! :)

How wise you were not to cancel those ADRs! ;) Somewhere in your heart you must've known you'd make it!

Kathy

Your ADRs are AWESOME!! :thumbsup2 I can not wait to read your review of Le Cellier! I am just dying to try the cheese soup! So much hype for cheese soup and bread  I am so thrilled you are going to WDW!

Woo hoo Jackie!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo thrilled for you and your family!!
:hyper::jumping1::hyper::jumping1::hyper:
Your plans look great....and yes it looks as if you really want to eat at Primetime with 2 reservations! :rotfl2: You will have a great time there....the food is comforting and the atmosphere is fun :thumbsup2
Hope you are enjoying your first real week of summer :cloud9:

Tracy

Awesome plans, Jackie!

Any way I can talk you into taking copious photos of the Main Street Electrical Parade? ;) I'm so going to miss that, and I just love the music too. Transports me right back to childhood!

Everything sounds great. I received a pin number today for 40% off of any resort. WDW is starting to get desperate. I wish that I was going there this year instead of Vegas. DH picked this trip & we are going with another couple.

Hey there! Great post recapping your travel plans! I think you got great ADRs and park choices. Looks good to me! :thumbsup2 That kitchen sink does sound tempting!!!!! ;)

hey jackie! so sorry I've been MiA on your PTR...but now I'm here to catch up!! I'll be back!

ooo i'm soo happy you decided to go to disney world!! You're right...Disney brainwashing does work in mysterious ways! I'm not sure if you've stayed at CBR before?! But as you know we just came back and loved it!!! I can't wait to hear more! You're almost there!!

Love the plans...I hope it doesn't go too fast for you all, but I KNOW it will be SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the beach!!! ;) Hee hee hee!!!!

Yes, it will be so much better than the beach. ;) I want the trip to hurry up and get here, but I feel a little guilty wanting to wish the summer away.

:thumbsup2Congrats on your change of plans! I can tell that you are super excited about the parade (I am toooo!!!).

It looks like you have some great plans so far. It will be here before you know it!

Erika

Thank you! :goodvibes That parade is the whole reason I couldn't get a summer trip out of my head.

I have that same 45. The one with the picture of the parade on it? Listening to that music just makes me happy. It never fails to put a smile on my face. I love Spectromagic too, but the music just isn't the same for me.

Yes, that's the one! I wore it out as a kid!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! :rotfl:

You're in good company, Crissy!

Oh Jackie ......

I am sooooooooo happy for you that your trip is BACK ON! :cool1::dance3::yay::woohoo::banana:

That is great, awesome news. I guess I can't say I am that surprised. :rolleyes1 I knew you weren't feeling quite satisfied with the HH trip. Not that HH wouldn't be fun......but ya know.......:thumbsup2

Thanks, Mary Ellen! Hilton Head would be fun, and I would like to get down there at some point. Maybe in the fall sometime when room prices are much more reasonable.

That's not too bad. You don't have to worry about airfare or hotels for the drive down. The drive from NYC is way too long.

It's not bad at all. There is one section through South Georgia where it never feels like it will end, but that's the worst of it.

Beaches n' Cream is on my must-do list.

Ours, too! I was showing Charles pics of the several of the things on the food thread, and he was absolutely drooling over it. LOL!

Are you still considering the dining plan? Or is a definite no? A 10 yr old paying an adult price is a little ridiculous. I wish Disney would either extend the age of children beyond 9 or add a third price for children that are older than 9 but not ready to eat adult portions. I'd love to see more interesting kids menus too.

Nope, we aren't going to do it. For $47 a day (those stupid summer prices), and Connor, more than likely, going to order chicken nuggets every chance he gets, it just doesn't make sense. Plus, we don't really like the counter service desserts, sometimes we want appetizers, and Chelsea being a big water drinker these days, we can save money just by paying out of pocket.

Yes, Cocoa Beach is about an hour from WDW. We have actually done that combo before. On our kids' first trip we took them there too. It's a nice beach. And bonus - on certain days of the week you can see the DCL ships going by!

Definitely something to think about...

Exciting plans! I am so glad you're back on track with a WDW trip! I am jealous that you can plan for which parks on which days. I have to take it all in stride for our trip.

Thanks, Susan! I have to plan park days since we don't do park hoppers, but I think we are just going to go with the flow otherwise.

I'd vote for Beaches & Cream. We loved it! Also, I don't like all the mayo-ish sandwiches I see pics of at the GF tea.

I really would like to try Beaches n' Cream, but I also like the idea of the tea. Don't know if we would be able to fit both of them in, though.

We still can't get into LeCellier on our trip :( I have a reservation for Sat night b/c we thought MNSSHP was going to be Friday, then they switched it to Sat and we got our tix for that night, so we can't do LC that night. (Haven't canceled my reservation yet - hahah)

That's a bummer. :( I wouldn't cancel it yet, either. ;)

Loving your plans Jackie!!!!! You guys are going to have an amazing trip!!!!!! WOOOT!! I want to come and see the Main Street Electrical Parade...maybe I can convince Prince P I need to go back down this weekend LOL!!! Don't think that will fly!!!!!!

CBR looks gorgeous...Chelsea will get her beach!!!!!! Your ADRs sound fantastic too...Disney food is amazing!

Thanks, Jen! The Main Street Electrical Parade is going to be so neat to see again! Cannot wait!

We :lovestruc our Disney food!

I am really excited that you changed your plans. I just love reading your reports. I know there would have been a beach one but not the same!! Plans sound great-we loved our lunch both times at Yak&Yeti-so yummy!!

Thanks, Mary! We enjoyed our dinner at Yak and Yeti a couple of years ago although we were soaked to the skin from being caught in a rainstorm. Their drink menu is one of the best on property in my opinion, but it might just be the cool names they have. LOL!

Love that! The joys of teenage-dom! :goodvibes

Tell me about it!

Your plans sound great You do a good job of maximizing a shorter trip...something I appreciate since DH's mindset is usually, "Four parks, four days, no problem!" :lmao: No problem...until he balks at waking up at 7 a.m. each morning of his vacation. "Vacation does not mean waking up earlier than at home!!" he says. Boys!

Charles is a pretty early riser -- it's keeping him awake in the evenings that has me worried. The kids and I may be doing a lot of stuff at night without him.

Did I miss something? :rotfl:

:banana:WOO HOO:banana: to WDW being back on!! You guys are going to have such a blast, can't wait to here about more planning!!

Hi, Jess! You are just in time to help me celebrate the change in plans!!! :goodvibes

Loving the plans! I'm not sure I could pick between beaches and cream and the tea.

Girly lady fun or ice cream....it's like which do you like better, apples or oranges!

Clearwater is only about an hour away too for some lovely beach....I've done that trip combo and it was fabulous.

Thanks, Cynthia! I know -- choosing between the two is going to be tough. Now, if we were staying at the Beach Club, it would be much easier to fit both in, but it's hard to justify paying $400 more to stay there. At any rate, I think I might try to fit both in, but I don't know if we will be able to do so. I guess I will just have to plan another trip. ;)

Add me to that club. In fact I am still trying to figure out how to do it but with my work schedule and going in Sept and Oct I figure I just have to wait and pray it is extended. :worship:

I really hope it is extended. I know there are a lot of diehard Spectro fans around, but I was thinking, has Disneyland ever had Spectro? Maybe they could borrow it for the new opening of California Adventure, and we could keep the MSEP for a couple of years. :goodvibes

Yay! I am so glad that you guys are getting to go to Disney!:dance3: Your plans look great too-it'll be a blast!:goodvibes

Thanks! I am so much more excited now about our summer vacation.

I vote for either GF tea so you can have special mom/ 13 yo daughter time OR let the birthday girl decide.

I think I might just wait and see what the boys are feeling up to that day -- if they just want to hang out at the resort and catch up on Phineas and Ferb episodes, Chelsea and I will head to the Grand Floridian.

Ok so Thursday night (this is the 22nd if I'm figuring right) Chris and I will most definitely be in Epcot, hopefully tinkgurl and family will be as well. Chris and I have dinner reservations at Biergarten (I forget what time). If you're there we can try and meet up then. Or, Friday we have breakfast reservations at 'Ohana so we should be over in the MK that morning after that. How do either of those sound for you?

Both of those sound like good possibilities. I was also noticing over on the July thread that you have a lunch ressie at Primetime. We do, too. We could maybe meet up there, too. We will need to exchange cell phone numbers so we can coordinate everything. :goodvibes

the schedule looks great! i always think wednesdays at MK are good b/c for some reason that day is always the least busy. i think people tend to head to MK at the beginning of their vacations (sunday/monday) or the end (friday/saturday), so the middle of the week is always good. the two times i've been on a wednesday it was DEAD. but of course that was in late april/early may! so i'm sure july is slightly different. if you decide on getting a kitchen sink i will be living vicariously through you. we were supposed to get one with anna, etc. in december 2008 but the wait was really long to get in so we didn't get to. i've had that on my mind since!!!

Thanks, Dawn! I am hoping the Magic Kingdom is pretty quiet on Wednesdays in July, too!

I really think it would be fun for us to get one. We may not feel like doing anything afterwards, but what a great set of pictures that would be. ;)

Thanks, Christine! Oh, no, Chelsea is not too young to appreciate the cute waiters. She is a bit boy crazy these days.

Oh the cheddar cheese soup! I just learned on another report that you can get the soup and pretzel bread to go... who knew??

Oh, that's some valuable info. right there! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans in this compressed planning period! :)

Of course, we still have six and a half weeks, so I can do a lot of planning in that amount of time. ;)

How wise you were not to cancel those ADRs! ;) Somewhere in your heart you must've known you'd make it!

Kathy

I knew I would kick myself if I canceled those reservations too soon, and then, decided we should go. We wouldn't have been able to get Le Cellier again, that's for sure!

Your ADRs are AWESOME!! :thumbsup2 I can not wait to read your review of Le Cellier! I am just dying to try the cheese soup! So much hype for cheese soup and bread  I am so thrilled you are going to WDW!

Thank you! We are very excited about Le Cellier. I already know I want the soup, the salmon, and the mousse. (I am just not a big steak eater, but Chelsea and Charles love their red meat.)

Those summer dining plan prices really stink!
Connor orders like my brother used to order when we were younger. Chicken nuggets and hot dogs at EVERY meal :rotfl:
I'm going to calculate everything this weekend to see if we're really saving money on the dining plan. I have a feeling Tables in Wonderland may be a better savings.

Do you usually bring bottled water with you?

We're considering a February break trip and are thinking about a moderate. I know you've stayed at POFQ, CSR, and CBR, so I consider you an expert :)
Which do you prefer/recommend?

Woo hoo Jackie!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo thrilled for you and your family!!

Tracy

Thank you, Tracy!!! Primetime is one of those places I have wanted to eat at for a long time, but Charles always turned his nose up at it. I finally decided to stand my ground on it for this trip. ;)

Awesome plans, Jackie!

Any way I can talk you into taking copious photos of the Main Street Electrical Parade? ;) I'm so going to miss that, and I just love the music too. Transports me right back to childhood!

Thanks, TK! Oh, yes, I will take lots of MSEP pictures! I am hoping we will be able to see it more than once.

Everything sounds great. I received a pin number today for 40% off of any resort. WDW is starting to get desperate. I wish that I was going there this year instead of Vegas. DH picked this trip & we are going with another couple.

Vegas will be fun, I am sure. All of my friends who have been have just loved it. :goodvibes

Hey there! Great post recapping your travel plans! I think you got great ADRs and park choices. Looks good to me! :thumbsup2 That kitchen sink does sound tempting!!!!! ;)

Thanks, HD! That kitchen sink seems like the perfect mid-summer treat! Of course, they might have to roll us out afterwards.

hey jackie! so sorry I've been MiA on your PTR...but now I'm here to catch up!!

Hi, Keala!!! Charles and I stayed at CBR last October and loved it, but it will be a brand-new resort for the kids. It is right up their alley!

Yay! So happy you're going to get to go to WDW after all. :goodvibes

Hi, Carissa! Thanks! I am much more excited about our summer vacation now! :goodvibes

Those summer dining plan prices really stink!
Connor orders like my brother used to order when we were younger. Chicken nuggets and hot dogs at EVERY meal :rotfl:

Yep, that's Connor. He will like knowing he can order off the adult menu, but I have a feeling, he will still go with chicken nuggets! LOL!

I'm going to calculate everything this weekend to see if we're really saving money on the dining plan. I have a feeling Tables in Wonderland may be a better savings.

From what I have heard from other people, TiW is a far better savings because you get 20% your entire meal including alcoholic beverages.

Do you usually bring bottled water with you?

We do -- it just makes more sense. Here at home we can get a 24-pack of Dasani for $5, and in the parks, they are $2.50 a bottle.

We're considering a February break trip and are thinking about a moderate. I know you've stayed at POFQ, CSR, and CBR, so I consider you an expert :)
Which do you prefer/recommend?

We love POFQ -- I just love the New Orleans atmosphere and the small size of the resort.

Yippee!!!! :cheer2: So happy to read that your trip is back on. It's going to make your summer break just that much sweeter!

My mom and I are heading down for a quick trip during your same dates to redeem our GAD Passes. We are arriving at the BWI (1st stay for both of us) on the 18th for two nights. We are going to do Epcot on that Sunday and AK on Monday. We'll look for you. :3dglasses

Oh, a stay at the Boardwalk will be lovely! I love those new refurbed rooms!!!

I hope we run into each other!

More than once! WOO HOO!!! :woohoo:

That's the hope! We'll see if it comes to fruition.

Your ADRs look great. I have to laugh because we had the dining plan last trip and I ordered the cheese soup for my DS knowing he would not eat it so I could have it!!:rotfl2:

Hi, Carissa! Thanks! I am much more excited about our summer vacation now! :goodvibes

You

and all the rest of us! :dance3: :rotfl:

Am I correct in hearing that we can just go to LeCellier as a walk-up and get cheese soup and pretzel bread to go?
If so, that might very well be something we do and take over to Sunshine Seasons to add to some more lunch over there.
