Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Yep, that's Connor. He will like knowing he can order off the adult menu, but I have a feeling, he will still go with chicken nuggets! LOL!

From what I have heard from other people, TiW is a far better savings because you get 20% your entire meal including alcoholic beverages.

We do -- it just makes more sense. Here at home we can get a 24-pack of Dasani for $5, and in the parks, they are $2.50 a bottle.

We love POFQ -- I just love the New Orleans atmosphere and the small size of the resort.

I wonder how many times Connor will choose chicken nuggets. That could be a DIS contest :rotfl2:

I'm thinking about TiW. It may make more sense. I hate worrying about using up all of the dining credits.

We're ordering a case of water from Garden Grocer. $2.50/bottle is ridiculous.

Hmmm I have to look into POFQ. Has it been refurbed?

On the water - I wanted to order a case, but I think DH talked me out of it. We will have the refillable mugs and could get water in the parks from CS with ice! (I know the taste!). Plus if you get a CS breakfast, you get two drinks. So we'd get water with that as well. I can get a case of the store brand for $3 on sale here. I might just bring some flavor packets and refill the bottles.
I can almost stomach $2.50 a bottle (rather than waste a snack credit) now. We have a new baseball park here and a bottle is $4.00!!! Crazy! Luckily, they let you bring in water. So we do.

My kids order chicken nuggets at almost every meal on vacation. I try to get them to change it up once or twice.

Your ADRs look great. I have to laugh because we had the dining plan last trip and I ordered the cheese soup for my DS knowing he would not eat it so I could have it!!:rotfl2:

Good thinking!!! :thumbsup2

You

and all the rest of us! :dance3: :rotfl:

Am I correct in hearing that we can just go to LeCellier as a walk-up and get cheese soup and pretzel bread to go?
If so, that might very well be something we do and take over to Sunshine Seasons to add to some more lunch over there.

It's amazing how I went from, "Oh, we have a beach vacation in mid-July -- la, la, la, not paying any attention to how many days we have until then," to "Yep, we have a Disney vacation coming up in 43 days, 14 hours, and 53 minutes." :lmao:

Yes, I just read that about the soup and pretzel bread! That would make a perfect lunch along with a big slab of strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons!

I don't think POFQ has been refurbed in awhile. I could be wrong though. If it hasn't I imagine it's turn is coming soon.

$4??? Now, that is truly highway robbery!

You are doing better than me -- I never try to change Connor's mind -- I figure a week's worth of chicken nuggets won't hurt him.

omogoshhhh yay back to disney!!! I swear when I was reading your posting about you and your husband that reminded me of my husband and I. I could sit and talk about disney forever, DH loves disney but gets to a point where he doesn't care, and he always makes comments like that. But thats great news! One of the reasons I chose disney in the beginning was because if the prices and how much you get for your money. To me, having park tickets, preplanned activities, free transportation-no driving, and meals planned ahead(feels free hehe) while we are there is such a relaxing trip and so much more fun!

I love your dining choices and can't wait to here more. I really want to try the kitchen sink! :goodvibes

Hey Jackie, just wanted to tell you that I found the Disney Silly Bandz at my local Walgreens of all places! Thank you though for offering to get them for me :)

also, we did the kitchen sink last year from Beaches and cream:

it started out all pretty like this:

and this is what we did to it:

we could barely walk! Thank goodness we were staying at The Beach Club- we literally rolled up to the room! :rotfl:

I hope you guys get one this year- it is so fun - they turn all the lights out and play music and announce it to the entire place!!!!

Jackie, I just had to re-read your thread because my DH surprised us with a bonus "pre-baby" trip this July!!! Unfortunately, we miss you by 4 days:sad2:

I was hoping that I could actually meet a fellow Diser with a boy my son's age but to no avail. Considering that I will be 7 1/2 months along, I have a funny feeling that this is going to turn into a pool vacation, more than a parks vacation!!!

Have a great weekend!

Hi, Jen!!! Yes, really, when you figure in everything, Disney always seems like the better deal to me! It doesn't hurt, of course, that I love the place! ;);)

I did the same thing to my DDs (both of them!)

If we were still doing the dining plan, I would be all over doing that! :thumbsup2

Yum!!! I really hope we make it over to Beaches n' Cream!!! The kids would have a blast trying to get through all of that! Thanks for sharing the pictures! I can't wait to show Charles!

Hurray for a bonus trip!!! I really wish our trips overlapped!!! Where are you staying?

Jackie,

Hope you're having a wonderful summer vacation!
I think you can answer a question: Do you have to leave a credit card for charging on your KTTW? I'd rather pay cash for everything.

Hi, Jen! Yes, we are enjoying our summer vacation!

Nope, you do not have to leave a credit card for charging. We have never done that because I am the same way -- I would rather pay cash for everything, and I just have a feeling that if we put charging privileges on our KTTW card, we would feel like we had free rein to spend. ;)

I just showed Clay the picture of the Kitchen Sink. What did he say? "Yuck...that looks disgusting." Are you kidding me???!!!! I think it looks yummy!!!

It dawned on me this morning that we only have six weeks and one day until our vacation! I guess I better start getting my mind around what we would like to do while we are down there. So, I have decided to create the “The Non-Edible Wishes List” (the edible version will follow soon.) The “Non-Edible Wishes List” includes the things I am most looking forward to on this trip (rides excluded because of course, there are lots of rides to look forward to experiencing again).

I tried to decide how I wanted to organize it. Should I do it by park? By day? By category? Or all three? Or should I just start listing? That might be the easiest.

Making a big deal about Chelsea’s birthday complete with balloons, a birthday button, and a cake. After all, Disney World is all about celebrating right now!

Enjoying the pool at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Seeing the new fireworks show in front of the castle.

Seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade. (Of course.)

Riding the Tower of Terror at night for the new special effects. (This is more for Charles and Chelsea).
TowerofTerrorNight.jpg

Of course, we need to go see Captain EO while it is at Epcot.

Having Charles and the kids create their own thrill ride at The Sum of All Thrills.

Helping Chelsea and Connor solve another Kim Possible adventure (or two.) This time I am arming myself with liquid refreshment though.

Walking through my lovely Africa.

And last, but not least, saying hello to my beloved giraffes.
071-2.jpg

I could probably keep this list going all day long of all the things I am looking forward to seeing and doing at Disney, but these are probably the big ones.

I am so happy you get to visit your giraffes!

I forgot Captain EO will be at WDW, it was just opening at DL when we were there but we didn't see it. Sum of all thrills is on my list, we've never done that either!

Great list

WAIT!! What are these new effects on TOT? Bad me for not knowing about my favorite ride.....:sad2:
I did see a FB update today and it showed a sneak peak of the Electrical Parade....wow did that bring back memories!! The music :lovestruc You are so lucky and I am happy you get to experience it again :goodvibes
Walking through your lovely Africa? Is that why you posted a picture of the bar that serves LOS? :rotfl2:

Just read the new drop sequences and effects for TOT....so sad it will only be until mid August. Grrrrrr

MSEP, fireworks, hanging out with giraffes. Sounds like an awesome vacation to me.
The girls LOVED SOAT. This needs to be a must! The line does get really long, though. I would go here right after Soarin', if somebody doesn't want to do SOAT then send that person can go get FPs for TT. We did this in November and it worked out nicely. :thumbsup2

Great list of Non-Edible Wishes, it is a nice balance between old and new. I can't wait to see the light parade again. I am thinking about going over to the MK the day we arrive and enjoying the old and the new of the parade and remembering.

Having Charles and the kids create their own thrill ride at The Sum of All Thrills.

Very nice list. I only :scared1:ed on this one.

It so much fun to make plans for all of the many things you can do and see on a Disney trip! Even with ten nights, we won't have time to do everything we want to do. We start talking about what we already know we're doing, and it begins to fill up blocks of time. Plus, we want plenty of swim time in the July heat.

I think summer Disney vacations should be two full weeks. :cool1:
