Top picks for when to go...what events?

Hi guys!! We are going to get APs this year and are planning a few trips using it. What would be your top picks on when to go so we can see all the splendor that is Disney? What months? And why? What special ticket events do you recommend?

So far, we are planning a very short weekend trip for my son and hubby's b'days in October. We are also planning to visit the weekend/beginning of week leading up to Thanksgiving. Will Christmas decor be out that week??

After that...we are not sure when is best...especially spring time! So give me your best advice!!! Oh...and I am a teacher and we have off Mardi Gras in February and spring break in April if that helps! Thanks!!

My personal favourite time to visit is halloween, which runs Sept & Oct, the fall decorations are fantastic and the parties are incredible!! They're hands down my favourite time to go!

Our favorite time is early October for MNSSHP and Food & Wine. If we had AP's and were close enough, we would also do early December for the Christmas festivities (probably not the hard ticket party). We would also like to head there is April at some point for the Flower and Garden event. Other than that, I would certainly try to hit the parks at the low crowd times in September and January.

I just found dates for Food and Wine. On the Disney website it lists a wide range from September to November. Is it the whole time or just on weekends? How does that work?
