Hi All, I will be staying on my parents DVC points in two weeks, and I was thinking of visiting the Top of the World lounge for the fireworks one evening. I know that technically, the actual DVC members have to present for you to be let up, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck visiting the lounge, without the actual DVC member on your reservation with you? I'll have the DVC card with me, and we'll be staying on the DVC points, so just curious if others have any experience with this!

No you can't. Only member staying on DVC points (and their guests on their reservation). You are not a member. Associate is not a member. You'd need blue card with your name and ID and MB showing your room.

Just wanted to clarify for anyone else that might follow (all restricted resale points have access to TOTWL).
To further clarify, except on blockout dates (currently 7/3, 7/4, 12/30 & 12/31) members can be staying at any Disney owned & operated resort on either cash or points and have access to the TOTWL. On the blockout dates, you must be using your membership (reservation made by DVC) to stay at BLT to have access to the TOTWL.

If it's not a black out date, take your parents' card and explain to the CM who is working the elevator access. If your Magic Band says you are staying on DVC points, my bet is that the CM will let you up, even if one of your parents isn't with you.

The rule would be that you do not qualify and it’s just going to depend on how loosely they verify. Even if others have gotten up it won’t mean you will.

Yep, break the rules.

DVC makes the rules for TOTWL, probably in conjunction with the food and beverage operations. If they make an exception it’s up to them. I think there’s probably a push and pull back and between the two divisions. F&B would be wanting sales and more people to be allowed up especially if it isn’t busy. DVC wants an “exclusive lounge” to market.

Agreed.

I was never brave enough to do it, but if I had been brave enough I would have asked. Not sure I would have bet either way, but I wish I'd asked.

But now I'm the member so it's all good. And I still didn't go last time I was at Disney.

Ah...but EVERYONE wants to go 15 mins before fireworks to stand on viewing deck and NOT buy a drink.

At any rate the rule is DVC MEMBERS not associates. That's the rule. So answer to OP is 'no, you cannot'.
