Top gluten-free restaurant recos...top 3-5

I've heard that Chef TJ is now at the Grand Floridian, but we've been to 1900 PF twice since he moved and we have yet to meet him. I haven't read a single report of anybody meeting him since he moved. I don't know that he goes out to work with guest directly any longer.

We had many meals at the Grand Floridian in early Feb. and didn't meet the famous TJ either! I was really hoping to.

Hi there. We are going to DW in June and am thankful for this post and replies. Our 9 year old has celiac and she used to be a great eater but is not anymore :(
In fact she doesn't want to go to DW she has been saying...(a little late now) but i think she is scared of what she can and cannot eat and thinks there will be nothing for her.

Again, thanks for this post/replies.

You need to look through some of the gluten free threads. Many have pictures of YUMMY food that's all gluten free. I was going to say she'll never feel so normal in her life, but that isn't accurate. She'll never receive such special treatment in her life is more accurate. WDW is the only place I know of where a child who is gluten free can eat breaded chicken tenders, mac & cheese, pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs with buns, brownies, cookies and so much more. When she sees the pictures of foods she CAN safely eat, her excitement will return.

This exactly! My gf ds11 says that WDW is his favorite place to eat, because he gets treated so GREAT! Tell her that a lot of kids who avoid gluten eat at WDW EVERY day, and that WDW loves to give them treats.

My DH can't have gluten and he LOVES eating at Disney.

We've had dinner at 1900 park fare. The chef came out, showed him what he could have and made him his own salmon steak.

Oliva's at OKW was great too for all 3 meals. DH was so excited to have pancakes.

The restaurant at SSR was great too (Turf Club?).

Akershus was great for breakfast. The chef brought DH his own potatoes because the potato casserole has gluten in it.

We really haven't had a bad experience anywhere except one night at T-Rex. The waiter was really the issue, not the chef. We've also had several great experiences there.
