Top Chef Seven--May Contain Spoilers!

He was the chef that walked behind E and Sloan when they were having dinner. I rewound it 3 times to make sure it was really him!

I will have to re-watch that now! That is pretty funny. Stephan is quite the ham, I can see him enjoying "hollywood" lol.

YAAYYYY ARNOLD! Just for the record. He regrets saying that girl is two faced.

I so far don't like anyone. This season seems very boring to me
I like Arnold, I like Kenny. I like Ed a little. I don't like Andrea, I don't like Kelly, I don't like the CIA instructor, I DON'T like the woman who, in the first episode, was excited about being in "Obama's city". I don't like Angelo. Too full of himself, and tonight, instead of saying 'with you', he said 'wit choo'. Bugs me. Yes, I can dislike a Cheftestant for whatever petty reason I choose.

I have to agree I'm not liking anyone. There are no stand outs. I guess we got spoiled with the V bros and Jen. Maybe this just Top Chef lite for easy summer viewing. I can't wait for TC Just Desserts.

Of course I like Arnold. I really don't like Angelo. So full of himself. I want him gone.

I knew Arnold was going to win when they were pointing out that he didn't know how to start the BBQ and was watching another chef and mimicing his moves. I figured it was a way to throw us off. I also liked that he didn't make something that was overtly a BBQ/picnic meal. I think that's what won it for him.

What would you have cooked for this challenge? (Especially with the 4th of July weekend upon us.)

I would have made chicken rolls stuffed with proscuitto, sage leaves and fontina cheese with a sautee of zucchini, sliced grape tomatoes and vidalia onions served with parmesan cheese and oniony homefried potatoes. That, to me, is the perfect picnic food.

You know something? Seeing what everyone else did, maybe somebody (I, who can't really cook anyway ;) should have done steak/beef burgers and hot dogs... not, of course, that Whole Foods would sell hot dogs :(, but something truly normal and then just spice it up.

I always feel that way too in the beginning. There are so many of them that it's hard to form any sort of opinion either way. I always think that the new season is going to suck but then as the chef's dwindle down a bit it gets better!

I was happy to see the "Rosie O'Donnell" wanna-be to though. I found her annoying.

They need to weed out a couple of more contestants before the show heats up. It's always too hard to follow when there are too many chefs in the kitchen. The Rosie look-a-like had to go though.

I laughed when Tom made a comment about being offended as an Italian American. I guess we can assume that he does not watch Jersey Shore then.:lmao:

Finally caught up and watched. So far I am uninspired and underwhelmed.;)

Do not understand why Tracey turned out a fennel burger? That just sounds gross.

Heck my grocery store butchers make those jazzy burgers behind the counter. There are about 8 to choose from now. They have tons of fresh veggies and other stuff in them.

I agree with the winner. I like Arnold so far as my fav. It looks like Angelo is the one to beat.

I was very, very disappointed with Angelo and his celery/peanut butter combo for the kids. :sad2: He is a GOOD CHEF and instead of feeding the kids, he tried to use his immunity to oust Kenney. That was just wrong.
So, based to on that, I am not going to root for him unless he redeems himself in some way and so far not seeing it.

I am not happy with that whole group for not plating a good meal for the kids.

She was trying to make her own sausages, but was having trouble with the grinder and didn't have time to stuff the casings - so she decided to make sausage patties instead.

In Angelo's mind, anyway ;)

Tracey was way out of her league from Episode 1. I think her criticisms of some of the more "refined" chefs came out because she realized this. I'm sure she is a good cook, but I couldn't stand her attitude, and her cooking skills are not "Top Chef" material.

My favorite line of the night was by the Quickfire judge when he said something like, "My grandmother's not a pastry chef, but she can still make a pie!" :rotfl:

I loved that line, too. I'm glad Ed won, but I was sure they were going to give it to Kelly. I could taste that chocolate torte, and I have crummy reception!

Thanks. I skip through parts.:rolleyes1

But still ewwww for a picnic. I agree that she was way out of her league for this competition.

How do you get into Top Chef? Is it by invitation or competition?
