It's that time again! Another season of Top Chef.

Who else is watching?

Any early favorites? Anybody you can't stand yet? It's probably too early for that. LOL

I have to say. I'm SO glad that John went home first. I just don't want to eat something made by a chef that looks like he hasn't washed his hair in the past ten years! EWWWWW!

So far Angelo has definitely stepped up as a strong contender, but I'm not sure if I'm going to like him or hate him. It could go either way.

It always takes me a few episodes to get into the show. I'm glad that the crazy one went home though. Yuck. There's always one overly cocky chef who will get knocked down a few pegs and that's Angelo. We'll see. I can't comment too much on how I liked the first show. By the 3rd or 4th, I'm getting into it more.

John made me feel embarassed for my native state.
Not sure if it because there isn't anyone really standout cute on the show, but it seemed a bit lacking than previous seasons. Of course I will still watch though :-)

I agree with no stand-outs. They all seem bland, with little personality. Okay, so far. I did like that the first quickfire tested their basic skills.

Okay, I loved the challenges last night!

The BipartiSandwich Quick Fire was very cool, and the School lunch program Elimination Challenge worked really well.

Once again, it appears that Angelo is the one to beat, BUT it also appears that he's going to set himself as the one they all want to take down. I'm sorry. If you don't like your teammate, don't throw the challenge just because you have immunity. EVERYBODY saw through it, and it'll come back to bit him in the rear later . . .

Angelo might be cocky ala Hung, but he has proved he has game so far.

Tracey rubbed me the wrong way with some cocky comments and nothing to back up her swagger yet, but that could have been creative editing too.

I like Kenny, he has legit skills and and has run a top kitchen before.

And I forget who did it, but what kind of a moron uses cooking sherry for a middle school menu.

So, the best part of tonight's episode?

Johnny Iuzzini!

YUMMY!

He could feed me dessert ANYtime he wanted to! :thumbsup2

On to the challenges: Some of those pies looked NASTY!

The picnic challenge was just "meh". I didn't care who won or went home. Though it seems like Tracey was the obvious choice from pretty much the beginning. Fine by me, she was starting to get on my nerves.

And from the teasers, it looks like the annoying cheftestant from last season (Michael Isabella) along with the annoying cheftestant from the season before (Spike) are along to try some of the food. Great, just great. Like they weren't annoying enough the first time around.

Yeah, Tracey was bound to go. I can't believe Andrea: "That's my oven. I put my name on it"???????????? Please! I'm going to swing by the BMW dealer tomorrow and put my name on a car. Think that'll work? :rotfl:

There's a pretty active Top Chef thread over on the Community board... if you dare ;) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2489780

One of the DISers over there knows somebody who knows Arnold, and posted a group photo with him in the center.

I haven't watched any of this season yet. Is it worth the time? I noticed there's one or two cute contestants on there.

Yeah. I don't think so.

I don't go to the Community Board. I'm perfectly happy here on the GLBT board.

Okay, but we're nice to each other ON THAT THREAD :teeth: We're just mean when we talk about the Cheftestants. Sometimes.

Ya know, the first couple years of this show, I was SO invested and really enjoyed the contestants and seeing what they cooked. Now? I'm more interested in the food and could care less about the contestants. Very few of them are good eye candy like in previous seasons and most of them are more arrogant then in seasons before. They seem to get worse. More drama, more arrogance. So I find my focus on the food rather than who's cooking it.

Oh well, I still love the show.

I'm liking how the judges seem to be more harsh and really ripping some of these chefs more openly. Or is that just me? This season, there's more judging table moments, where I'm like....damn, did he just say that? LOL

Other than all that rambling, last nights episode was just...eh.

Okay, this season really isn't doing it for me.

We're six or seven episodes in and I still couldn't care less who wins or loses each challenge.

It's usually much better than this, isn't it? :confused3

I'm not caring a thing about the people in this years show. I'm watching it for the food, not the contestants.

Now Next Great Artist, I'm LOVING. Although the really cute one got voted off last night.

i think kenny going to win i hope.

Sadly I am not finding this season that watchable either. I have been finding myself more and more doing something else while it is on (folding laundry, sorting papers etc...). For me that is a sure fire sign that even though it will be on in the background, it isn't holding my attention.
