Top Chef All Stars starts 12/1/10! No ADVANCE Spoilers!

It could be, as someone stated earlier, they had the keep the food hot for the chefs. Since he didn't know when he was going up, the salmon could have continued to cook away and was overdone by the time his turn arrived.

That's a really good point.

I can't believe that Jamie didn't have to present her food to the judges...She would have been the one to go home if she had I think...It looked like she disappeared when it came down to the last 2 cooks. I'm surprised the other cooks (except Blais) weren't on her more...

I don't think that's an excuse. A chef needs to know how to keep his or her food at the correct temperature and well-cooked; it's something they do every day. Particularly if they ever cook at a buffet. Tre should have accounted for the uncertainty in serving time; the other chefs also faced that uncertainty and their dishes apparently did not suffer for it.

They might have been and we just didn't get to see it. (Oh it'd be so cool to see all the stuff they film.) But I LOVED that Richard did. In a point blank, mature way. Not swearing or going off emotionally, he just said it. There. AWESOME!

I also thought that i had read somewhere that the staggered the start times and end times when doing a challenge where the chefs serve at different times, but make it to look like everyone starts and stops at the same time....I can't remember where - maybe EW???

A little off topic, but I got a gift certificate to Harold Dieterle's restaurant for Christmas (winner of season 1 for anyone who started watching later) :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Can you tell I'm excited? ;)

Merry Christmas! :santa:

Is Jaime coated in Teflon?!?!?!:rolleyes:

Jamie may have had her hand in 2 poorly executed dishes, but the loser had a dish that NO ONE wanted to eat. I think they made the right decision.

I agree, but like Steph and Richard's season with that one chick, she was NEVER on the top, she just always had someone worse. It's aggravating that total performance isn't taken into account. I'd rather see that personally.

Wow I can't believe it wasn't Jamie.

I understand why the person was eliminated, but Jamie had a hand in 2 bad dishes

I'm never a fan of challenges when one or more of the chefs are judged on a dish he/she didn't actually prepare....

This is not Top Front of the House;)

Shocking results. I am still unclear as to why Jamie is still around? Is anyone else bothered by her this season, but was a fan of hers in her season before?

And why didn't Stefan come back? I liked him!! :)

BBM.

I've never liked this aspect of the show, but I've been a fan since Season 1, so I've come to live with it.

I keep getting this feeling, though, that Jamie could become like an "underdog" team in Professional sports. If you leave them around long enough, at some point they may come back to bite you.

That being said, I think she'll go home next week (double elimination sounds tailor-made to finally get rid of her), but I could also see her putting together a solid week or two, while everyone else gets preoccupied with each other, and she slides through a bit further.

Total disclosure: I'm a huge Jamie fan, but she has not been on her game this season.

Actually I just get the feeling that a lot of these chefs liked the "idea" of coming on the show again, but once they got in the thick of it, decided they just didn't want to be there.

I agree with you. BUT, Jamie is the luckiest person alive.

I don't understand why they even needed a front of the house person. There were servers working, too. They would all have been better off being in the kitchen.

What was Mike expediting? All he seemed to be doing was yelling that he needed food.

Yes, this season, the challenges are poorly designed. The tennis challenge where some chefs didn't have to compete. This challenge where 2 chefs were pushing carts instead of cooking their own dishes. :confused3

I wonder if Jamie is sleeping with one of the producers? She certainly has been very lucky. :scratchin

I think, in a way, they also kept her because she adds drama. People will keep watching to see when she will finally get booted.

From what I read they asked him but he declined.

I was not a fan of hers the first time around either. I loved it that season when Fabio said it's Top Chef not Top Scallops, lol. They played that again last night.

I'm with you total on the Stefan part. He should have won his season and he should be definately be there this season.

I love that line too......I am so glad that he put out a good dish last night. I don't think he will win this season, but I hope he goes pretty far. I didn't like him for most of his season, but he grew on me towards the end.
