Top 5 reasons why this board is evil....

I'm somewhat fortunate. My wife discovered the DISboards when we where preparing for a cruise on the Wonder back in 05. She showed me a post one day when I was in her office and the she pointed to her username "dvcersfromva" and said in the custest most innocent little voice "I'm earning my ears".

I lurked for a while... posted a couple times under her username and at some point decided I needed my own identity. Well DW hasen't posted for quite a while and I think her post count is like 50 or 60 posts. These days, every once in a while, I'll get "I see how many posts you have... you're sick".

I think she understands though. :)

Dh joined and racked up a few posts and then I became addicted too. It's hubbie's account and I do 95% of the posting.

It gets kind of funny though. I cringe when I see one of my post referring to DW and I, or when he posts something with an opposing viewpoint. So, no I do not have multiple personality disorder with gender issues.

I also agree with all of the posts made so far - except I am beginning to wonder about the healthiness of my little obsession. :scared:

How much is too much? Is 22 hours a day too much? 20? 18?

OMG -- that's me too! This is my husband's login, but I'm the addict! I imagine I've confused quite a few people when I talk about my DH! :rotfl2: I love this board, though! Such good info and conversations!

This is addictive and very informative! To those with huge posting numbers - if you don't mind sharing, approximately how many hours per day/week does it take to accumulate those numbers of posts?

The board addiction is plentiful in our house. It started with just me, then to my teenagers and now it seems my husband has caught DISitis too! :rotfl:

I think it's Wonderful!!!!!
For the past few years I had to contain my DIS Board Happiness to myself
but this past month my best friend of over 10 years has finally joined our
DVC family.
Now our conversations begin with did you see that thread......
Life is good! :yay: :yay: :yay:

So first I caught addonitis from you all, now its Dis-Board fever

DH is convinced I chat with a bunch of inmates from Cell Block D :lmao: When I ask him, logically, how a bunch of prison inmates could arrange and actually use a chair swap at VB he just shrugs and says "I just know" :rotfl2:

I suddenly had flashbacks of Pac-Man Fever after reading your post! :rotfl: We could have a Dis-Board Fever song! LOL!

My new saying to hubby is "Cant talk I am on the boards",. I think he honestly believes I have been brain scanned. :rotfl2:

My family is so used to me being on these boards round the clock (seems like anyway), they just laugh and call me obsessed. What's a day without checking out the Disboards - it's like leaving the house with that "I'm forgetting something feeling" or with that "I feel naked" thing!

By Gosh - I think I'm obsessed :worship: :worship:

The DISBOARDS fills a little niche quite nicely. I am fortunate that I get to surf'it at work in slower times and usually keep the laptop going when I get home till DW and I go to bed. But she is just as HOOKED as I am:thumbsup2
So to answer the question we are on here.... bout 14 hours a day and yet somehow still seem to miss stuff:confused3
GUESS WE NEED TO BUMP IT UP A FEW MORE HOURS:banana:

Wouldn't it be nice if we got paid to surf the boards endlessly? Most of us would be very wealthy Disers! :lmao:

My DH thinks I am nuts too. DS joined last summer and already has more posts then me. We talk about what we have read all the time. I guess you can ust chalk it up to my obsession.

It gets even worse when this isn't the only board/forum you visit. I happen to visit 15 different Disney or DVC boards on a daily basis. It's easy to spend far too much time browsing the various forums; however, this is just part of my Disney addiction.

As my DW says, there are far worse things I could be addicted to!

my DH and I are BOTH addicted. He was just on the boards and I was standing over his shoulder so he could get off and I could get on! It's our kid's that think that we're nuts. We leave for HH in 27 days and I am already planning a 12 night vacation in 2009 for August. We are trying to stay at each of the DVC resorts at least once. Our next quest is VWL for Ausust of 09. I will be booking at the 7 month window for a 1 bedroom so I HOPE that we will be able to get it. If we can't, I already have several backup plans in place. ;)

Another addict here. :wave2:

DH always asked "Are you looking at the food porn again?" :lmao: I'll tell him no I am reading about this or that thread popcorn:: He'll just roll his eyes and smile.

It's all his fault he took me to DL for our first vacation, then we bought in to DVC, and then I found the boards ... I have been hooked ever since.

I think it is really funny when we are on our Disney vacations (or any vacation for that matter ... I have a real problem with planning I guess :confused3 :goodvibes ) anyway, he'll ask me something about what we are doing, or the best way to get some where or what ever ... then I get to say "Aren't you glad I DIS!" :rotfl: Although sometimes I think I ask the craziest questions on here :o but I always get a great response

When I discovered the DISboards, I was relieved to find that I am not the only crazy Disney person in the world! Here, at last, was a place to feed my starving Disney obsession. And yes - DH rolls his eyes when he sees me on the Disney boards yet again!

I have to say I have the same 5 reasons as you - except my first trip is only 5 months, 2 weeks and 6 days away....CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
