Too many good shows just to list 3.
(Heck, there are FOUR Theme-Parks!)

ALL the shows IN the PARKS are "free".
(And I'm not even going to include the parades, and some are GREAT!)

My top 5 "Shows" in order (its tough to choose an order).

1. Festival of the Lion King (DAK)
2. Beauty and the Beast On Stage (MGM)
3. Fantasmic! (MGM)
4. IllumiNations (Epcot)
5. Wishes (MK)

The only shows that you pay for are at DTD (Cirque Du Soleil-La Nouba)
or the Poly (Hawaiian luau, dinner show)
or at FtW.

The Ft. Wilderness show is "The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review".
Our favorite. Bar none.
Dinner show. Corny jokes. Music, FUN!
The "Hoop" has been going strong virtually since WDW began.
They do 3 shows an evening, 7 days a week. Most are FULL.
Reservations can be made up to 2 YEARS in advance.

1) Fantasmic

2) Festival of the Lion King

3) Illuminations and Wishes are tied. (Come on. They both are must see items.)

wow -- that was fast gave me alot to think about -- thanks so much -- i know i will have more questions -- u all are the best and thanks for helping me make my first trip one to remember!!

Since you said the trip is in December :

Holiday Illuminations (with the additional Peace on Earth segment at the end.)

Candlelight Processional (Epcot)

Holiday Wishes - if they show this during your stay.

My family and I are not big fans of Fantasmic. It just doesn't "move" us emotionally like Illuminations.

1. Spectromagic and Wishes (nice to see together)
2. Fantasmic
3. Share a Dream Come True parade

Definitely plan to see the parades. A Disney parade will blow you away the first time you see it.

1)Fantasmic - Disneyland
(you never SAID Disney World!) Absolutly the most spectacular thing I have ever seen.

2)Illuminations
I know a lot of people like them, and there is nothing wrong with that, but shows like Wishes and Cinderellabration are just to sticky sweet to me. Illuminations is wonderful.

3)Festival of the Lion King
I've been to AK atleast 5 times, and last time was the first time I've ever seen this! I absolutly love it!

Honorable Mentions
MGM Stunt Show - Very good show, better then Indiana Jones and that's saying something.

Fantasmic MGM - A good show on it's own merits, but Disneyland blows it out of the water.

I think the shows and parades are what makes Disney World so magical.
Here is my list:
Shows:
1. Festival of the Lion King
2. Fantasmic
3. Wishes
Illuminations is my favorite show in any of the parks but maybe a bit slow for a 4 year old...though it is awesome and I know he would like it
Parades:
MGM
Animal Kingdom
Magic Kingdom
Have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!! pixiedust:

ok another question -- for my planning purposes -- is there somewhere to find out when all the "shows" and "parades" are -- I.E. -- specific times -- thanks!!!!

1-Fantasmic
2-Wishes
3-Philharmagic

All must sees on every Disney trip for us.....we wait and see Wishes the last night we are there....love to see the castle last thing before we have to come home!

1-Wishes
2-Fantasmic
3-Philharmagic
If you asked me this question a year ago, my response would be different. But now Wishes is number 1. Fireworks on the 4th will never be the same now that I saw Wishes. The BEST pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Don't forget to walk through the Osborne Lights in MGM in December. They are wonderful!

Bobbi :)

For a 4 year old - up close is better:

1. Lion King
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Probably a parade IF you don't have to wait long. (it's not worth sitting for two hours just to see a parade)..
