$5 and a small gift for the 1st tooth and a buck and a book for each tooth after.

I voted for $5 but she has left amounts between $5 and $10. I place my dd teeth a zip lock bag with her name, date, and the # of the tooth. Sadly my dd10 teeth have all fell out. We just had #20 in May.

Our tooth fairy leaves $2 bill. Hard to find sometimes but everytime I go to the bank I asked if they have any if so I get whatever they have to stock up on them. Our son has a sterling tooth fairy box and that's where we put the money. ONLY the tooth fairy can bring a $2 bill.

Why are you stocking up on $2 bills if the tooth fairy leaves them? :confused3:goodvibes

The tooth fairy here gives $5. She also gives $5 to the brother who hasn't lost a tooth. A little excessive, yes, but the tooth fairy told me that since they are only 14 months apart, she likes to keep things even...

The tooth fairy leaves $1 in US money (sometimes a bill, sometimes, change, sometimes "fancy" money like Sacagewea coin or JFK half-dollars) PLUS some coins from a different country "she has visited." My kids love looking up the coins on the internet and seeing where they are from and what they are worth.

The Tooth Fairy leaves $5 for the first tooth and then a $2 bill for each tooth after that.

Except when we were in Disney World, my daughter lost a tooth and Tinkerbell helped out the Tooth Fairy and she left a $5 Disney Dollar!! :wizard:

She leaves 6 quarters. We had a book when my DD was young that talks about how the toothfairy leaves coins, so 6 coins looks like a lot.

My daughter got $100 for her first tooth (we were going to Disney in 2 months so it was her spending money).

She got $5 - $10 for the other 3 teeth she lost.

My toothfairy always left us coins in different currency (my mom was able to go to the bank and do an exchange... Jamica, Canada, England, China, etc..) I still have over 100 of those coins, and the funny part is, the toothfairy let me know it never cost her more than $1.00 a handful!

It was pretty dramatic seeing all of those strange and neat coins. My mom said it was because the tooth fairy traveled all over and liked to share the coins.

I DO remember that I wrote her a letter asking for a glass elephant one time, and lo and behold (with the help of the Dollar Store apparently) I got one!

My son got $2 bill for his first tooth, then only $1 for the 2nd tooth since it couldn't be found, fell out at nap time at daycare. I will probably stick to that with my daughter: $2 bill for the 1st tooth, then $1 for each after that. Our tooth fairy leaves money in a 'pocket'/pouch that we made to hang on the door knob (So I didn't have to deal with the under the pillow thing and harder to forget when I see it on his door when I walk past).

$1 gold coin for the first tooth
50 cent piece for each add'l tooth

One time a child lost a tooth while we were visiting family. The VA tooth fairy left 2 VA quarters.

I have a friend whose kids have lost teeth on trips. They get a small toy befitting the trip.

I have 5 kids loosing teeth at the same time, so we keep it simple.

They also think that each house has it's own fairy, thus explaining the differences in booty.

A friend told her kids that the fairy changes the tooth into money using fairy dust. Thus explaining why such a small critter can carry all that change and why the tooth is gone in the AM.

The dentist told my kids that teeth that come out at the dentist or orthodontist get a "premium" from the tooth fairy. Oy.

Once my DS had his tooth pulled at the orthodontist- it was ready to come out. It was 2 days before Christmas. He decided to wait a night and put his tooth out on Christmas Eve. Thought maybe Santa and TF would run into each other. He awoke the next AM with a special gift in his stocking and a note from Santa. It was battery operated spin brush, Spongebob theme, with fruity toothpaste. The note was from Santa saying "my friend the Tooth Fairy told me...." Kids were over the top yelling and jumping up and down. "Santa and the Tooth Fairy are friends!!!!!! They KNOW each other!!!!" And they KNEW mom had nothing to do with it because I'm soooo not a fan of Spongebob, or kiddy flavored fruity toothpaste. So it had to be Santa and TF.

This has bought us at least one more year of "magic".

Our tooth fairy always left money from other countries. It was a bit hit. She/he left coins and bills in various amounts. Most of the time the money was worth pennies but DD did not care, it was from a different country and her friends thought she had the coolest tooth fairy. Oh, and since she wanted to keep her teeth she simply left a note for the fairy to please leave her teeth. We now have all twenty teeth in separate bags with the date they were lost written on the bag.

Most of the time, my kids would loose their teeth so fast, we didn't have time to go to the store or bank first. They got whatever change we had in our pocket and a note thanking them for their teeth. I think the lowest amount was .38 and the most was close to $5.

Fir the very first tooth, DS got a Webkinz. But after that, it has been $2.00 - a gold one save and a paper one to spend.

Your tooth fairy gives the tooth back?

I may have to call my tooth fairy on the "special" phone number I have and run this by her . . . hmmm . . .

Well. she wasn't going to leave teeth. But when my oldest (who is now 10 1/2) lost her first tooth, she couldn't bear the thought of the tooth fairy taking it away. So she wrote a note in her cutest 5 year old handwriting asking the tooth fairy to please, please, please leave her tooth. It was the cutest thing! So now, the tooth fairy knows both of our kids want to keep their teeth.

Dang, our tooth fairy must be really cheap

She leaves $5 for the first tooth, then $1 for each of the others.

DD lost her first two teeth at WDW. One during the day and one that night at Chef Mickey's. After tooth #1 fell out, Peter Pan told her that at WDW, Tinkerbell comes to see you instead of the Tooth Fairy. It's a jurisdictional thing, I suppose. :rotfl2: So that night, she put both teeth under her pillow and Tink left $10 in Disney Dollars with Tink's OWN picture on the currency, a Tinkerbell purse, a Tinkerbell necklace and magically...a photo signed by all the characters from Chef Mickey's congratulating her on the loss of two teeth. :rotfl:

The next time she had a loose tooth, she wanted to know if we could return to WDW, but we had to tell her you don't get to go to WDW every time you have a loose tooth. Believe it or not, when we went back to WDW two years later, she lost ANOTHER TOOTH! Tink visited again and left $5 in Disney Dollars, plus a Princess charm bracelet which included Tinkerbell.

This shouldn't even surprise me, but we're scheduled for a trip in Dec. and she has 4 loose teeth right now. Considering she can hold on to a loose tooth for 6 months, the odds of losing one there for the THIRD TIME are pretty good. It's got to be a record to lose one every time you visit, unless you're an instate Florida kid. :lmao: My money is on her keeping that tooth in her head until we hit WDW for the holidays. :santa:
