We r going to WDW soon and have booked the Tomorrowland Dessert Party to celebrate my son and my 2 nieces' birthdays, I am just wondering if it is worth the price (they do not take the dining plan)
Was thinking of maybe doing the fantasmic dinner instead, thoughts?

We are also doing the Royal Table for the Girls and Chef Mickey for my son.

Any input would be great.

I really enjoyed the dessert party last year and your kids would probably think it was fun, but it is extremely expensive. I would consider that, and if money if a factor, take them for ice cream instead. Have fun!

I took my mom to the Dessert Party on our October trip and it was so wonderful. However, we were a party of two and had an awesome table right there on the edge of the terrace, where all we had to do was tilt our head up to see a perfect view of the fireworks. Since the terrace is covered, other people had to get up and come forward to watch the show.

However, I would definitely do it again for no other reason than I loved having an uncrowded place to sit down and enjoy the MM&Y show, and the fireworks. When we looked to our left at the crowds from our seat on the Terrace, it was unbelievable how many people were crammed onto Main Street. I was so glad to be sitting with a drink, some ice cream, and a wonderful view, with no one in front of me blocking my view or complaining.

Yes it is expensive. This is just our opinion, but to us it is a really high price to pay for a drink and a huge sugar rush (especially for kids). Although if you want to keep them awake until really late at night maybe that isn't a bad idea..:rotfl2:

OTH some people think that it is worthwhile as a special treat. Totally up to you.

The Fantasmic package is a whole different thing. And something we always take advantage of. Really is a logistical matter rather than a special treat: It saves you from having to stand in line for a long time waiting to get into the show, and you get a meal at a set price. We think it's worth the price whether we're on the DDP or not. Others would rather eat somewhere else and put up with the wait in line.

We did the dessert party a few weeks ago and enjoyed the wonderful view of the fireworks, but found the quality of the desserts subpar. Other than the selection of fruit I can't say there were any of the desserts I thought were really good. So my opinion is that it wasn't worth the $.

We have also done the F! dinner ressies before as well. I would only do this if I were on the dining plan and if I were going during a busy time of year.

Minnie mum,
Which restaurant do you recommend for the Fantasmic package?

Have never done HBD. Just don't want to plunk down 2TS credits or pay OOP Signature prices for a really early in-park dinner. Although I would like to go sometime for lunch.

Have had 2 horrible experiences with dinner at H&V, so definitely do not recommend it.

Have eaten twice (1 F.pack lunch, 1 F. pack dinner) at Mama Melrose and enjoyed both meals. Actually had one of the better steaks I've ever had on property at our last meal there. So this is the one I'd recommend. It is also the one that sells out fastest, so get your ADRs on your 180 day if possible.

Hope that helps.

That does help, thank you.
I was just wondering though, I thought that the fantasmic package was for the fireworks, why would people do it for lunch?

Thanks again.

Personally I found it both enjoyable and worth it. I'm hoping to do it again on our next it.

It's a nice experience to be able to watch the fireworks without being trod on or elbowed. I agree the desserts aren't anything special but they're good enough for me to have filled my plate 3 times ;)

Here are a few pics from our visit, we went on the 1st of October. (sorry about the size, I made them smaller on photobucket but it's being stupid :headache:)

This was the highlight of our trip. The desserts were delicious, the view of the fireworks spectacular, and not having someone's pit or **** in your face...Priceless!!!

That does help, thank you.

You thought that the Fantasmic Dining Package gave you fireworks viewing while you had dinner????? NOOOOOOO!!!! The Fantasmic Dining Package gives you a late lunch or early dinner at one of 3 restaurants inside DHS. Then you have reserved seating for the first showing of Fantasmic that night. I hope that clears up any confusion you may have had between the Dessert Party at MK and the F. dining package.

We did the Dessert Party in December and it was wonderful! The desserts were good, we tried them all and had fun seeing who liked what. The best part though was being out of the crowds down on Main Street. It was a mad house the night we were there and I am SO glad we had chairs, and treats and some space. We even lingered just a bit to wait for the crowds to leave and then went out a snagged a spot on the curb for the second parade. Worked out great and we will be doing it again this December.

Yes it is expensive. .

I looked on the Disney website and couldn't find the cost ... I found a price range, but can't find the exact price for the dessert party. I will be there in early March. Can anyone tell me how much it will cost for 1 adult?
TIA
