took our first trip home

Hi All... Just a short trip report, and a thank you to everyone who has been so very helpful on these boards, and best thoughts to all in florida in the aftermath of Charley. Our family recently purchased a resale at BCV. We had a trip planned and on fairly short notice we were able to get three nights at BCV added onto the end of our trip. We stayed Aug 1-4th. It was wonderful. Having purchased sight unseen I was just the slightest bit leary. I am most times practical to a fault and so making an expensive purchase without "kicking the tires" was very out of character for me. (Although I ghosted on these boards and stayed up reading way too late for about six months before puchasing!) After reading about problems at some of the resorts I began getting nervous. No need. Check-in went smoothly, our accomodations, a one bedroom, were very nice. Everything looked fresh and clean. SAB was lots of fun, Beaches and Cream quickly became a favorite. The walk to Epcot was great. My only regret was that we never got back early enough to rent one of the surrey(?) bikes on the boardwalk. I am already thinking about next summers trip. One of the best things about this vacation was that our pace really was much more relaxed than the first time we went, because I knew we would be going back soon. It made the trip less stressed. It really was just great. My DH made sure I got my Tinkerbell members are magical pin. DH was just as pleased as I was, and my 3 DS' loved it. The only real problem that I have encountered is wondering how; with all of the other funds we have going, college savings, retirement savings, home improvement savings, christmas savings, etc,etc,etc, to justify savings fund to get more points!

While most of the negative reports have come from BCV you would still have to be unlucky to encounter one of these situations. The problem is that luck should never have to come into play at all. These negative situations should never happen, maybe BCV is making some effort to correct these things.

Glad to hear that your "sight unseen" purchase was such a big hit with your family! Sounds like it met with everyone's approval.

And you hit the nail on the head talking about the relaxed pace. Doesn't it make WDW just that much more enjoyable than before? It has made our vacations 100% better for that fact alone.

Glad to hear a good report about my BCVs!!!! We had a great first trip home there in March. Now we have a quicky trip to OKW planned for October and can't wait! I love your "saving for" list. We really want more points too. We are getting new countertops on Thursday, and they are going to be beautiful, but I can't help calculating how many points we could have bought with that $$$. Oh well, we will just have to keep saving....Lacee
