Too soon to talk about Halloween 2018?

I'm looking at a very short trip in the fall of 2018 with just 2 days at MK and that's it. 3 night stay. I need to choose between Halloween week or mid November. Halloween is on a Wednesday that year and I know there will be a MNSSHP that day, but I wonder if anyone with more knowledge could predict the other party nights that week. Too soon?

It's never to early to start talking Disney vacations!

I'm thinking of doing a short fall 2018 trip myself. Just for F&W and MNSSHP. Problem is, I'm just about all out of DVC points. I might have to actuall (gasp!) pay for my room.

Disney is predictably unpredictable. I'd recommend looking at the schedule for 2016 and 2017 and make your best guess.

Good luck! :)

If you're looking to do Halloween mid-November would be too late. The Halloween events usually end by the second or third day of November then it's straight on to the Xmas decor.

Or, on some years, Halloween will disappear completely the night of Oct. 31, after the end of MNSSHP that night.

I'm of no help with party night predictions, but I don't think now is too soon to plan for it at all! We're looking at planning a September or October 2018 trip! Since the 2018 rates were released a few days ago, we are busily looking at our budget and planning out which trips to take and when. This year will be our first MNSSHP, and I know we will want to go back in 2018. Halloween is a favorite holiday at our house! We all dress up (sometimes with a theme) and decorate our house too. So we can't wait to see MK at Halloween and are adding a trip there in October (or September) 2018!

Definitely not too soon, we're going Sept 2018 and I'm occasionally annoying dh by mentioning costumes :rotfl: he definitely think it's too soon...although this also applies to mentioning restaurants, rides or our holiday in general!

I don't think it's too soon at all! I can't help with party dates, but I've already booked a trip for the week before Halloween next year! My son will turn 3 during Halloween week, and I'd actually like to do his birthday and Halloween here at home, so we are going the week before. We actually aren't planning to do the party, but I'm excited to see the Halloween decorations. Fall is the only season in which we haven't gone to Disney and I'm looking forward to it already!

My main concern was with Halloween being on Wednesday which is usually not a party day. I figured they might have a party on Tuesday AND Wednesday and this year they are doing one on Nov 1 so possibly also Thursday and then every night would be a party night. I think we are leaning toward November now because my MIL would like to see the Christmas decor!

Thanks, I knew we would be choosing between two different seasons. Looks like we might pick Christmas instead!

Yes, my concern was with Halloween being on Wednesday I was wondering if they would do Tuesday and Wednesday and this year they added a Nov 1st party so if they do that again next year that would leave no nights for us to do MK without a party!

You will love it! We went the week before Halloween 2015. We did a party and my daughter had a blast (she was 4 at the time) although we didn't make it to midnight! This year we are going the week after Thanksgiving so we can do Christmas. Then it looks like this quick trip with my MIL is going to be the week before Thanksgiving 2018 because she want to see Christmas too! I made this post when we were still deciding if we wanted to go Halloween. I think from now on we are going to be fall Disney trippers!

:D I bet he appreciates your planning once you are there! I felt a little crazy even presenting this idea with my mother in law this early, but I wanted to lock in the room and ticket rate as early as possible! She was so excited that I was asking her that she didn't mind that it's a year and a half away!:rotfl2:

To be honest he normally only gets excited once we're in the car on the way to the airport :earsboy:
