Too Risky using DME?

I am wondering if we should use magical express? We are arriving at MCO about 12:15pm and we have a 3:30 tee time in WDW. I'm hoping we'll get our luggage delivered to our room by 3pm to get to our tee time. Is this pushing it? Any ideas or advice?

Thank you!

I would say that if you expect to get your clubs from ME that you will not make it. I would not put the tags on the golf clubs and pick them up at the carrosel (sp?)

I agree. Pick them up yourself, b/c there is no guarantee ME will have them to your room in time.
Yes, your current schedule is WAY pushing it, to make that tee time.

I think you are cutting things very close. My luck with planes lately has been awful so I automatically expect that I will arrive 2 hours late. I would never schedule something for only 3 hours after the plane is due in (and you have to get to the resort and check in!)

Even without DME it sounds like you are cutting it too short.

I was afraid of that but it's our only day to golf. Would we be able to bring our clubs on the DME bus?

Perhaps we've just been lucky but we've always been able to get to our resort within 30-45 minutes of landing. We're hoping it works out that way again.

If you have an on-time (or nearly on-time) arrival, you should be able to make it without a problem. You can pick up your clubs (as long as you don't put the Disney tags on them) and load them on the bus you will ride to the resort. You can check in; if the time is getting close, skip going to your room until after the golf game. WDW should give you a voucher for a taxi to the golf course and you should get one at the club house to return to your resort.

I agree with everyone else. Follow the Eric plan for maximum ease:
  • Put DME tags on your checked luggage, but NOT on your golf clubs
  • Pack your carry-ons with your immediate needs (other than golf clubs!:rotfl:)
  • After you land, go to baggage claim and get your clubs. Your regular luggage won't be at the baggage claim carousel but will be automatically delivered to your room.
  • Go to the DME Welcome Center, you'll be shown to your bus queue, and the driver will load your clubs under the bus for you. You'll get them back as soon as you arrive at your resort.
  • Check in at your resort. You'll get to your tee time with no problem.
By DME-tagging your regular checked luggage, you have the advantage of not trying to lug your checked bags AND your golf clubs through the airport and also from the bus to the front desk.

Your flight could get delayed. Desperation move, pick up your checked bags and have the golfers take a taxi directly to the course. The rest of your party can take DME to your resort.

It looks like all DME tagged luggage gets sent to your resort even if you don't take the bus, I'd go this route even if your entire party is golfing.
