Too much food for these Newlyweds Sep. DxDP 11/08

I guess I'll go ahead and start on our 2nd day, I feel like such a thread don't killer, I don't know what I do wrong, but none of my threads/reports ever takes off for some reason! :lmao: If anyone has any questions, please ask!

On Tuesday we ate breakfast at the concierge lounge and then headed to DHS. Our lunch was 50's and part of me was really nervous about this one, because DH can be kind of shy and I didnt know how he would handle the teasing/interaction. Boy was I wrong!!! He got so into it, constantly sassing her back and trying to "get on her nerves." Then at the end he wanted to get a picture of her!! For some reason I forgot to get pictures of our apps here, I had the shrimp cocktail, which the sauce had a little bit of kick to it,
DH had the chicken noodle soup, good, but nothing super special.

Shrimp Cocktail - Jumbo shrimp served with cocktail sauce and lemon

Chicken Noodle Soup - hearty mixture of chicken, vegetables and egg noodles

My entree-Fish Sandwich - beer-battered haddock on a crusty roll, with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce, served with a house salad or french fries. This was very good, but could have used more tartar sauce, I asked for some but by the time she remembered, I was done with the sandwhich.

Dad's Traditional Meatloaf - a blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze, served with mashed potatoes, and green beans.Again, man of little words, this was "good."

I had told DH about them making you clean your plate so he asked our waitress about it. She told him he didnt have to, but that he at least needed to make something pretty with the leftovers. This is what he came up with:

-DH's DessertDad's Brownie Sundae - Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, and Caramel topping. He really liked this, was one of his favorites.

My Dessert- S'mores...Now I know what you are thinking, you can have smores anytime. Well I did, three times in this trip report, all at different restaurants.:rotfl: But these by far were the BEST of all of them, even beat the one I got at a signature restaurant, which that one I'm not sure I have ever seen on the disboards. Thee marshmallows were so melty in the middle and crispy on the outside, heavenly.

The one thing I was dissapointed in was that I didnt get to try that PBJ milkshake, but I knew I just didnt have the room! Next up: California Grill, the best meal of our lives!

We're going to our first Signature restaurant!! I was really excited, but slightly nervous, because we aren't "fancy food" people. We took the bus to MK then got on the ferry to GF, which was the perfect way to start it off.

My Entree- "Surf and Turf - twin medallions of filet mignon, butter poached rock lobster tail, potato gratin, and choron sauce" Now I realize most people say the lobster tail is frozen and not good, but I tried DH's maine and I still liked mine better. To each his own I guess.

My dessert- "Almond-crusted Cheesecake - with lambert cherry sauce"
I asked for strawberry sauce instead of cherry, but thended up not tasting it, this was a GREAT dessert! Crunchy, yet creamy it was wonderful!

Afterwards we grabbed a couple glasses of Moscato and headed out to the balcony for our first Wishes of the trip. The first of many....it was magical:wizard:

We are doing our first signature restaurants on our trip in November and can't wait! I'm just glad I have 2 teenagers that appreciate good food and will enjoy it as much as DM and I will;) We are going to Narcoosee's too and I am planning on ordering pretty much what you did and you just solidified my choices:thumbsup2

I am so excited you menitoned Moscato wine!!! That is my fave and it is so hard to find in restaurants, at least here in VA Beach. Did you get yours from Narcoosee's or a bar in the GF? Do you happen to remember the name of it? I'm a big fan of the Moscato D'Asti's myself....:cloud9:

Keep 'em coming! So glad to see your lunch review of 50's Primetime. We have a lunch ressie there, too. Sounds like you and DH really enjoyed it!

Wow those dishes from LTT looked so good! The soup, pot roast and turkey, man I am kicking myself for not booking that adr.
Guess that place is SO on my list next time.

I am a Moscato D'Asti fan...Actually I hated wine until a week before we left for Disney I had my bachelorette party and the girls had me try and ive been hooked ever since. My absolute favorite is Bricco Riella, if you havent had it. the wine was Moscato Nivole. guess what? Moscato will show up in my next review too, though in a larger quanity! :rolleyes1

Those S'mores look awesome!

I am really looking forward to your Jiko, CG and Yachstman reviews. :)
:thumbsup2

First off, congratulations!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

We stayed at AKL for our honeymoon too and LOVED it!:cloud9: Awesome reviews and great pictures!!!!

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

Hahaha! I had to laugh out loud when I read your "threadkiller" line, I've felt that way myself a time or two... I bet everyone who's ever posted on these boards has!

Please don't let it stop you- loving the pics!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I actually like the way you're doing it..making each restaurant a link so that the reviews can be read while not having to slog through a ton of other posts if you're not in the mood for it. Unfortunately, that's probably why you aren't getting a ton of responses either. But for my part, you're doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work and the food porn. Love it! :goodvibes

Great review of 50's. We love this place. What I do about the clean plate club is scrap all mine onto DH's plate. Just don't get caught!!! Then they bring out dessert w/ your veggies in it...YUCK!

I might just have to try 50's primetime after seeing your smore's picture!
