We are going 9/25-10/3 and I have 4 character breakfasts planned. Is that too much especially for a 3 yr old DS?

I'm thinking Crystal Palace, CRT (my bday), Hollywood & Vine and Tusker House breakfastaurous (sp?). We went to Crystal Palace last year and loved it, want to do CRT for my bday, H&V for DS since he loves Handy Manny and OSO and Tusker House so we can get a pic with Mickey and Donald since I'm not doing Chef Mickey. (did Chef Mickey last 2 times we were there).

Thanks
Suzy

In my book, no. But it really depends on you and your family.

We actually did 7 character meals (6 breakfast, 1 lunch) over a 7-day trip. The kids loved it, and it helped use up a lot of DxDP credits. :thumbsup2

lol when I posted our ADRs many people commented that I had too many breakfast/character ADRs...but in my eyes, it saved a heck of a lot of time at the parks, and was a great experience for the kids.

I don't think you have too many :)

If your son likes the characters then why not? My kids love doing character meals and we usually do alot. We have 4 out of 7 character meals for our May trip

When we went when my dd was 3 and we went to all the meals offered. She did ok, which I think was due to most of them being all you can eat so she was able to eat right away.

We go for five days and do 4 character meals. I love them especially because it saves us so much time by not having to stand in every character line in the parks.

I don't have any kids so I can't speak from a child's standpoint, but as an adult I love character meals! It makes me feel like I don't have to stand in line later at the parks for meet & greets!

I don't think so at all. We try to do some kind of sit down breakfast (preferably a character meal for the kids) every morning. We usually do an early breakfast and a late dinner for our sit downs.

Last trip was 5 days and we did Chef Mickey's for dinner, 1900 Park Fare for dinner, 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, and O'Hana for breakfast.

Trip before that was 7 days and we did Chef Mickey's for dinner, Crystal Palance for breakfast, 1900 Park Fare for dinner, 1900 Park Fare for breafast, Akershaus for the princess breakfast, and CRT for dinner.

I don't think you have too many character meals. I've found it really saves time in the parks because we're not waiting in line to see characters.

I agree and we did the same but it was 6 breakfasts and 1 dinner for us. It was great because we got all of our must do characters at meals and got to skip most of the meet and greet lines.

Thanks for posting this OP b/c I was thinking the same thing. We are doing 4 character meals (Chef Mickey's dinner, Crystal Palace dinner, Arkershus breaksfast, & Ohana breaksfast). My kids really want to see this characters especially since it is our first visit.

We are going for 7 days and we have...uhm... 8 character meals plus Hoop de Doo Revue, LOL!

Its my DD's 5th birthday trip, she is the perfect age for Characters, and we are on deluxe dining...so why not?

We have:
Crystal Palace Lunch
Cape May Breakfast
Park Fare Dinner
Chef Mickey breakfast
Akershus Lunch
CRT
Ohana Breakfast
Tusker House Breakfast

And I'm bummed we couldn't fit the supercalafragilistic breakfast in somewhere, lol!

I was very fortunate to get really good ADR times. We have to eat anyway, so why not?

Next time we come we will cut waaaaay back on the character meals, but this trip is all about the Magic!

We do a lot of character meals because the kids adore them. We wouldn't do all breakfasts though. The buffet breakfasts tend to be about the same everywhere, so we do a couple of dinner and couple of breakfast. If lunch is available, even better. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. I am trying to avoid standing in line for pics so I figured the character meals was the way to go. I'm also hoping to get into the parks early so that we are ready for rope drop. Hence all morning character meals and DS will be ready to go. He loves Handy Manny so I knew that was a must and I'm a princess and I've done Askersus (sp?). lol So if I can't get CRT, I'll do that one instead. My DH and I have done Chef Mickey's a couple of times so we switched over to Donald's breakfastaurus so we can still get a pic with Mickey.

This thread makes me think I don't have enough character meals!!!! I want more, but not sure if DH will go for it.
