Too Late to Book DME?

I completely forgot to book DME for our trip this May, and it's now 32 days away. Is it too late to book DME? I booked through a DVC rental and completely forgot to give them our Flight info for the trip. Can I call DME and book it or will the DVC member have to do so?

It's not too late to book DME. However, if you have booked a DVC unit using rented points the member will have to make those arrangements through member services.

DME tells us that they need 10 days lead time to get your info packet printed up and sent off to you. So, with 32 days, you should be fine. Take care of that today though. Whoever you rented points from will have to make that reservation for you but that shouldn't be an issue!!

The person you rented from will have to make the reservation for you. It's not a big deal - a phone call or a form filled out on the DVC owners' website.

You may or may not receive your preprinted luggage tags. This isn't a big deal. Just go, pick up your bags at baggage claim and then head over to the DME desk at the airport. In the alternative, you can head straight over to DME and give them your airline baggage claim tickets. This would make me too nervous to do though, and I'd much rather make sure DME knows my bags are my bags so without the DME luggage tags, we pick up our own luggage.

We rented through David's Vacation Club Rentals. I have called them and they are having the member add this for us. They also warned me that I may not receive my Yellow Tags, and thus may have to get my own luggage and bring it to the Bus with me.

The woman I spoke with was quite friendly and said we'd get an email confirmation when the DME addition was confirmed by the member.

Even if you don't get your yellow tags, DME can get your luggage. However, when you arrive at MCO, you'll need to go to the DME counter and give a description of your luggage (and maybe airline claim tags?).

We Got our Tags!!!! I called to add it to our reservation the day I made the original post and we got our tags the other day. Just now logging in to report.

PHEW!!!!
