Hello DISers!

Well, I have been a longtime lurker (almost 2 years now) and I have finally decided to make my first post.

I love reading all the tips, ideas and all the amazing experiences you all have had at the World. I have often wanted to reply to threads I have read, but then I was never sure if I wanted that reply to be my first post. So, now, I will get to share my excitement and feel as though I can now start adding my two cents.

I grew up about 2 hours from Orlando and have lots of memories of day trips to the parks. My parents were awesome and surprised me with many trips. They would pick me up from school and start driving the wrong way, or wake me up early and put me in the car, eventually I would see the luggage in the back and start asking a billion questions. Then, we would be at DHS (although, it will always be MGM to me) or EPCOT or MK and I would be beyond thrilled.

But, then, time got away, as it does in life and high school got busy, I went away to college and moved to NYC. Last year was my first trip to Disney World after about 10 years away. And, it was simply amazing.

I work with a youth theater company here in NYC, we do about 4 to 5 full musicals a year, as well as classes and other mini projects. We decided to submit a tape for Disney's Magic Music days to perform in Downtown Disney. We were accepted last year and a group of 19 of us went. 5 adult staff members and 14 crazy talented teenagers. It was an amazing trip not only because I was reunited with my love of Disney but because I got to share it with 18 of the most important people in my life, and for some it was there first trip. It's so neat to witness that.

Well, we have been accepted again and will be traveling down in about 2 weeks, this year there are 22 of us!

I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am. I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

My fellow staff members include my amazing girlfriend and our best friends. The teenagers we work with are some of the most talented, hardworking, smart, funny, cool people that exist on the planet. We fundraised almost all year long for this trip. (For some of them this is honestly a once in a lifetime opportunity.) We will have two performances on the Waterside Stage in front of World of Disney in Downtown Disney. (6:45pm on Monday, May 30 and 8:15pm on Wednesday, June 1 - come on by if you are around, I promise you will love it! Money back guaranteed!)

We have a character breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace, Hoop-De-Doo Revue for one our kids' 16th birthday and breakfast at Rainforest Cafe in AK. I hoping to get enough kids awake and willing for Rope Drop for as many parks as possible. We only made it to DHS for Rope Drop last year.

I have a personal goal of riding Space Mountain at least 5 times. I will not be eating any actual meals in EPCOT and I will just snack around the world. We had lunch at Biergarten last year, it was delicious and lots of fun, but we were too full to enjoy anything else.

GF and I will actually be leaving Wednesday, May 25 to Houston for a good friend's wedding, then on Sunday, May 29 we fly to Orlando and meet up with our crew who will have been there are a day already. Then we stay until the following Sunday. GF and I both have multiple jobs and very little time off, let alone time off together. I am so excited for the 4 days we will have in Houston and the 8 days we will have with our favorite people in WDW.

AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!EEEEEEEEEEEE! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Those are all the words I have when I think of the excitement!

Thank you for reading all of this, if you actually have. Thanks for all the tips and happiness you have given me!

Welcome, it's great that you're going to WDW, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

There is nothing quite like working with youth. DH and I did so for 10 years with our church and also were chaperones for the high school band trips all over the eastern states. Sounds like you have a natural love for them and I'm sure they appreciate all your hard work. Congrats on being selected again to perform. Good luck and have a magical trip!

Excitement! Yay, you're going to Disneyworld! And to share it with more people especially first timers or even once in a lifetimers, so cool. I want to take everyone I know there personally and show them everything myself and you are getting to do that! I am so happy for you all, I know what a dream come true going to Disneyworld is. My son got to go with his high school band last June and they performed at WDW and he loved it. It was a once in a lifetime event for him and something he'll never forget. Congrats to you all! Sorry, I won't be there to see them perform though. Best wishes and Happy Travels!
