Anyone ever do, or know someone that has done this? I have reservations for 9 people two which are children an 8 and a 3 year old. Any feedback will be appreciated. I am told by Disney Staff that this is a reservated feature, with some one on one time with the king himself..Mickey Mouse. We are scheduled for a Breakfast at 9am on the 24th. I am so excited!!!!!!!

is it new? i never heard of this ( not that i am the all time character meal expert just don't remember ever hearing of it:))

Not that I am aware of..I know it's connected with Magical gatherings (thats for groups of 8 or more)...but the rest, well......but I'm not a conissour of all Disney Character meet and greet dining either.....anyone????

We have done this in the last year here is my suggestion...go early as you are served and taken to see Mickey in the order in which you are seated. My family is always late...we we there a few min after the start time an were the last table to be seated. The tables were too close together and there were not enough high chairs to go around we had to wait for one. The characters that were supposed to visit each table NEVER came to our table. We had to wait at least an additional 1/2 hour after our family was finished eating even to be called to go to the private meeting with Mickey. The meet and greet with Mickey was great but not worth it. Also the meal was a pre-plated meal...no choices....several of the people in out gathering did not even eat the meal! So if you are going to go GO EARLY!!! Hope this helps ::MickeyMo

Thanks for your tips...I will make sure we are early....like at 8;00...we are supposed to be there at 9:00 am.

you would think for the money you spend....it would be better.

:::::Heres hoping it is::::::::::

My understanding is that Tony's is open for breakfast ONLY for Magical Gathering groups. Prior to 9/11 Tony's was a non-character breakfast open to the general public. It was a very good non-character breakfast.

Tony's opens to everyone for lunch and dinner.

Tony’s Town Center – Morning Gathering

The gathering was supposed to begin at 9:00 a.m. I was advised by another Disboards member to go early (which I did) I actually rushed 5 adults and three children from the ASM to MK by 8:30 am. Tony’s Town Center is located to the right as soon as you enter the Magic Kingdom. Being to Disney many many times, I honestly can tell you I never knew it was there. It’s a nice place with an open airy atmosphere.

Anyway, we arrived and I was anxious to get in so I went to the desk and spoke to the Cast Member who told me that they would be calling people to be seated in 10-15 minutes. This was good for my grandchildren were out front getting autographs of the Disney Characters who hang around the town hall.

I noticed that the reservations were on little three x 5 cards on the desk so when I spoke to the cast member I pointed out our card. She told me that I could wait in the reception area and that we would be called in as a group.

It seemed like I just sat down and my family showed up when Tony entered to welcome everyone to the gathering. He was very pleasant and jovial. Just in case anyone doesn’t know who Tony is, he’s the waiter from “Lady and the Tramp” that sings the song “this is the night” while Lady shares that piece of spaghetti with the Tramp.

Tony let one of his waiters take us to our table and we were seated right in front. There was a wooden dance area right in front of us that Tony told everyone they would be putting on a show. The waiter came back and said they had two choices on the already plated menu… a cheese eggs platter or a Fruit and Yogurt platter. I opted for the eggs my eldest daughter opted for the yogurt.

It seemed like seconds and breakfast was served. Cheese eggs, sausage, bacon a Mickey shaped waffle and hash browns. Daughters was yogurt, granola some fruit accompanied by a banana nut muffin. There were also pastries in a basket on the table. I heard my daughter law ask for fruit and some plain waffles, which they quickly accommodated. The food was very tasty, and there was more than enough to go around. Tea coffee and orange juice were also offered.

There was a short skit by Tony where he sang his famous song and the characters were introduced, Goofy, Pluto, chip and Dale were all there with Tony. Then after the short skit they went around the room to get some one on one time with each of the tables. Everyone was ecstatic, especially the kids. Every character took as much time as the tables needed, and there was no feeling that we were rushed, it was pleasant and very relaxing.

There was another small skit where they asked for anniversary’s or Birthdays and they sang happy Birthday followed by some dancing to celebrate anniversaries. Tony then made the announcement that the “boss” was in the area. He told us we would be taken one at time by our group for some one-on-one time with “The Boss” Tony came for our table and ascorted us out of the restaurant and into the waiting area which I was waiting in originally, he then had a basket of collective pins, which he commented -- Disney no longer makes. He then gave every member of our group a pin and told the grandchildren not to trade them. Being a pin collector…that made the trip for me.

We were escorted as group to another area in the back of the center and behind the curtain was none other than Mickey Mouse himself. He stood in an area with a red backdrop and lighted Christmas tree. He autographed as well as posed for pictures with us individually as well as a group. The grandchildren were elated and the adults were greatly pleased. This truly was one of the best offerings I have encountered at Disney, so if you have a group of 8 or more my suggestion would be to make the reservation –this is a must see.

Sounds great! So, how early can u make a ressie? If the park opens at 9:00am can you make a ressie at 8:00? I was thinking that would get us in
the park early.

Just noticed your shirts!! They are so nice!

I believe you can make ressie up to 150 days in advance. As far as the time goes you can get in early, but it starts at 9:00 am....so, if you can find your way to do it...do so, it was well worth it....

Thanks...I made 9 of them shirts.....made everyone wearem too!!!! Hahahahah my son who is 6ft 5 wore his too..he said he felt like a jolly red giant!

Excellent review, thanks! I'm glad that you and your family had such a great time. We used to love breakfast at Tony's, when they used to be open for breakfast all the time. Oh, and Tony is much better-looking in person than he is in the movie ;) :earboy2:

This makes me wish we had a group of 8 people going!! :teeth:

Yes, it really was worth it, and Tony's voice is phenomenal.

Does anyone know if you are doing the dining plan if this would be included as a character meal?

Sounds GREAT...we are a group of at least 9 maybe 11 going this December, I'll have to check this out!

I dont think this one is covered that way because it is considered a grand gathering....its special in that respect. But it never hurts when you make the ressie to ask.....

thanks for sharing!! When all of us go we are definitley more than 8....I'll have to check this out!

Definately try it if you can its worth it!

bumping this thread up again as its a wonderful time of the year to do this with your family...the one on one character time was great.....My grandchildren still talk about it !

Last I knew Grand Gathering events were considered a 2 TS credit meal.

Thanks Disney Mom for the update on the credits required.....
