I've read mixed reviews on Tonys. I am from an area with amazing Italian food and frankly don't frequent Olive Garden. Any comments would be appreciated. I'm not sure to keep this reservation or not. I don't want to have a bad meal! Thank You!

I think it's better than Chef Mickey's and the Coral Reef, but worse than every other restaurant in WDW.

It's worse (and considerably more expensive) than the Olive Garden.

Our Ratings of Tony's Town Square: (*rev 07/22/2015*)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: D
. . . food quantity per serving: C
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: A
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a
Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Seasonal Melon w/Prosciutto
. . . entree:.. Fresh Catch Salad
. . . dessert:. Pistachio Crème Brûlée
.
NOTE1: The staff friendliness and the eatery atmosphere are good, but misleading, as the
food is not something to write home about. Meats are average for the Italian entrées, but
akin to CHEF BOY AR DEE - using CHEF BOY AR DEE could be considered an insult to the
famous chef from Cleveland, Ohio. The sauce may be tomato, but it is definitely not a true
marinara. The appetizers are average. In a pinch, Tony's might do, but there are far better
choices. On the plus side, the desserts are simple, but pretty good. Hard to justify going
the first time, let alone going back.
.
NOTE2: If available, one can ask for a outdoor patio table. However, it is not a good place
to view parades, even though one might think so.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record…we REALLY like Tony's. We usually make a lunch ADR for around 2:30 pm and ask to sit on the porch or near the porch (if it's too hot), so we can watch the parade go by. We all ordered the flatbread pizzas last time and enjoyed them, but honestly, we have never had a bad meal here. And I do NOT like Olive Garden whatsoever, and I feel like my kids are super fussy too and they always like it.

We like it, but we also go in there with realistic expectations, not expecting some Italian grandmother's homemade feast that took all day to simmer. If you're going in and planning to compare it to something like that, or really great Italian places back home, then skip it, as you'll never be satisfied. But if you're going in with the idea that you want a good meal and don't want to leave the most popular theme park on the planet to get that meal [translate: the convenience factor counts for a lot and, for better or worse, Disney is well aware of that], then go and enjoy it for what it is. Could it be better? Of course. Are there better Italian places on WDW property? Yes, a few. But nobody can deny that the dining quality bar is set pretty dang low in the Magic Kingdom, at least compared to the other parks and resorts. If you want to eat a sit-down-and-be-waited-on meal in the Magic Kingdom, the options are few. If you want a better quality meal that is only slightly less convenient, then the resorts monorail and boats can be your friends. But if you want a good meal that will keep you going in the park, Tony's can serve that purpose.

I agree with this review.....food quality definitely a D! Been there once, dont plan on returning. Even my son agreed it was the worst restaurant in disney. Awful food. If you must go though, i'd stay away from anything that has marinara sauce in it. Then you should be fine. I hope. Good luck.

I think this restaurant gets more people passionate about their hatred towards it than anywhere and it cracks me up but also mystifies me.

We like it. Its in Magic Kingdom where awesome dining is nowhere to be found. Its a really neat atmosphere (big Lady and the Tramp fan here). Our food has always been good and I do agree about the marinara in that it isn't that great. My husband loves their steak and I usually order something non marinara. I LOVE their pistachio creme brulee.

Bottom line, when at WDW you have to balance many things into where you eat. I am originally from Texas and there's three tbings I know and hold dear: barbecue, Mexican food and fried chicken. All three of these foods are served at various places around WDW. I hold my expectations to a minimum. I never leave peeved feeling robbed because I knew going in I wasn't going to some authentic restaurant there to wow my Texas Taste Buds!

If Tony's fits your schedule and you want a full serve meal, go for it.

I think the food there is fine - we liked it well enough. If you like really good, really authentic Italian food, you will likely be very disappointed by everything at Disney, though.

I've always made an ADR for this then ended up cancelling because of the bad reviews. I plan to have lunch there on our upcoming trip. I'm thinking any of the pizza's and salads will be a safe bet. Can't be worse than the ones I've had to endure at Pizza Planet!

We have never been disappointed, but it's an Italian restaurant in a theme park. If you want good Italian head over to the Swan and try Il Mulino New York Trattoria, you won't be disappointed. If you want convenience stay in the park and settle.

To say it's worse than the Olive Garden is like saying Mad Dog is worse than Boones Farm.

EDIT: If you are looking for good food I personally think Liberty Tree Tavern has the best food in the MK.

It's the worst meal we've ever had at a Disney Park. There were 6 of us, we all ordered something different, and NO ONE had a good meal. The service was good but that can't overcome how gross the food was.

We had a nice meal there last week. Our steaks were cooked to order. I really didn't care for the side salad, but it wasn't a showstopper. I would go back again in a heartbeart :)

I gotta tell you, we were very unsure about keeping our reservation at Tony's this year. We had read so many bad reviews. We decided to keep it and give it a try. We were very surprised. Our meal was good and our server stayed on top of things. It wasn't the best, but it was enjoyable, especially after everything bad we had heard. I would eat there again based on our one and only experience there. It was very crowded. They seem to do a good business. We had to wait about 10 minutes passed our reservation time (not bad). We are probably in minority here, but we enjoyed it.

If one notes, I gave the atmosphere a "B ", because Lady & Tramp environment was good.

If you go thinking it's going to be a great meal..don't go.. There meals are fair to good, not five star, but there are good. Good location to watch the parade if you time your dinner right and sit on the patio.

Thanks! I'm thinking I will keep it for now unless BOG finally opens up!!!

If you are looking for real authentic Italian food you may be disappointed but for us we loved it!!! I love the shrimp scampi with pasta and the zucchini fries. This was actually one of my favorite meals in Disney!!! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and our waiter went over and beyond. I was really surprised to see this restaurant get such poor reviews. I say you try it for yourself.
