We have ADR for Tony's and I am doubting my choice. I would love some honest opinions on the food and atmosphere. Pictures would be wonderful. Thanks bunches!:coffee:

I honestly liked the food and so did all but my DD. She ordered a cheese pizza and didn't care for the cheese. They used several different types. If you like Lady and the Tramp, you will like it here. I thought our service was great and it was a cute place to eat. I would go again, can't get my DD to go though. I don't have any pictures, sorry.

the setting is 1890's italian restaurant...Think "lady and the tramp" of course!

its a little worn, but that almost adds to the charm.....it was a nice quiet spot after a hectic day of touring MK...

traditional italian fare...go with the pasta dishes, you can't go wrong.

The waitstaff was very nice.

if you order a smoothie for dessert you can get a "lady and the tramp" glass mug for an extra charge.

I have heard if you ask nicely they will send your autograph book into the kitchen to be "signed" by Lady and the tramp, but I have never tried it. :)

We ate there 3 times on our Sept 2007 trip so be obviously loved it.

They had the greatest steak that my dh loved. I am afraid I was not impressed with their Italian choices as they had done away with the Cannoli. They had a 3 cheese flatbread pizza that I thought was fabulous though. The Butternut Squash Soup was good, second best to Puck's, a bit thicker and not quite as creamy.

The servers were fabulous, the ones who had had us before came over to say hello on our return trips. Okay, so one young (beautiful looking boy) was a bit too chatty and I know far more about his car problems than I really wanted to know but then I am the sort that attracts that sort of confidence everywhere. :rotfl2:

Another great thing about Tony's is that if you plan your timing right you are right near a good viewing site for the parades and fireworks as well as near the front of the park for a quicker exit.

Keep a look out for a tall, thin guy who pops in often to oversee things. He seems to dress according to the season and stands out in a crowd. He was dressed like a pumpkin, sort of, when we were there. Evidentally he is a local who just loves the place and stops by several times a day to see how things are going and to chat with the staff. :)

disneyfan4u, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It was one of the few places that we found some decent food that had not been too dumbed down on the DP.

DH and I dined at Tony's this Sept on DDP. We LOVED the restaurant, the food, the atmosphere, the service. No complaints at all. I had Chicken Fiorentina and DH had New York Strip Steak. Both were big portions and we had a hard time finishing everything. We opted to eat outside on the patio with a view of Main Street USA. It was a nice relaxing meal. The waiter was the best we had during the whole vacation.

:thumbsup2

We had dinner there on our last 2 trips. We were a party of 7 the first year and 12, the second year, and we all liked our meals.

Two years ago, we ate there on Valentines Day, and my oldest daughter (25 at the time) was able to vacation with us for the first time since graduating high school. Anyway, she was feeling a little down from a recent break-up with a long time boyfriend, and a server from some nearby tables came over to our table and toss little heart confetti all over her, and said, "Such a beautiful girl should have a little love on such a special day." Honestly, he made her day!

That would probably have been Nick... he works at Liberty Tree one day a week, and yes, you're right, he's REALLY cute :)

I've said this on several Threads about Tonys:
It was the Best TS we had on our Whole Trip.
The Food, Atmosphere, Service, Theme was Wonderful.
Also like you I was double Guessing if I should give this
ADR the AX because of the neg. reviews,
but I am so happy I didn't.
I beginning to think that our Family likes all of the restaurants
that everyone else dislikes so whenever I read bad reviews about
a certain restaurant it makes me wonder if that would be
a place we'd like to try!! Sounds Crazy but True!!:crazy2: :rotfl:

Were you able to order the flatbread for dinner, or were you only there for lunch? TIA

This was our first TS on our DDP per our April trip. I had heard good things about it, but I just was not impressed by the food. The portions were very small, the bread and dipping sauce wasn't for me, and the service wasn't all that great. I was expecting so much more from the great reviews that it got and continues to get. I can't say it was as bad as MM though, but definately will not be on our return list.

We went to Tony's 2 times during our 1 week stay in May. We loved it so much, we are going again during our trip next week! The food was great, we got the New York Strip and potatoes! Yummmm!!

We were there in Feb 2007 and it was the best table service we had. We felt service and food were the best at this restaurant. Serving sizes were large. We were on the dining plan - so we had appetizer, entree, and dessert. We were stuffed when we left!

We were taken to Tony's by our VIP tour guide when we won our Keys to the Kingdom trip...
He could've taken us anywhere, but Tony's was chosen.
We loved it and we will be returning there on our next trip! The atmosphere was wonderful, the service terrific, and the food was great! Portions were huge...my daughter and I could've split the spaghetti and meatballs. My son had chicken and my husband had salmon...both were great! I would definitely recommend giving it a try...:goodvibes

I'm going there on the first night of our trip next month. I want to try the eggplant rollatini. (sp?)

Anyway, I'm happy to be hearing the good reviews (I was also a little nervous because of the bad reviews I've seen on this board)

I'm really looking forward to it! :yay:

Food = ok, but not great

Atmosphere = ok, but not great

Overall impression = It's not a must do restaurant.

Some people really love tony's. Some don't. In the magic kingdom you have few TS choices and other than Cindy's royal table you have to pick between a family style meal, a buffet and tony's.

My advice is to look at the menu before your ADR to make sure that is what you want.

Rysar, Tony's must have far more than their share of beautiful boys (I am a grandma and think of them as such) cause our waiter was not Nick. I do not want to post his name cause he might get in trouble for being soooo chatty and he is just young and has a bit to learn. He was such a sweet lad that I would reccomend that all young Disney loving gals stop by and meet him. Hope he has his car all fixed by now. I gave him my best grandmotherly advice. :thumbsup2

tarheelmjfan, I had the flatbread pizza for both lunch and dinner. Menus change though. I would assume that it would be an easy to thing for them to fix whether it was on the menu or not though.

I had the steak on one of our visits and I am not really a steak person but it looked so good, and it was.

Our 2006 vacation, we did not make our last TS and got an ADR for Tony's same day :rotfl: .
Atmosphere is great and big pasta portions.
We wanted to go back in Jan 2008:idea: but it's closed for refurb :sad2:

I haven't written my review yet, but here are some photos that will be in it. Like you I was really apprehensive of eating at Tony's because of all the bad reviews, but we needed an MK place to eat before the PPP. We had already done CRT, were going to do the CP breakfast, and just wasn't sure of the LTT menu - so Tony's it was. Let me tell you, I am so glad we made our ADR here! The restaurant is so cute and cosy!

Bread and some kind of tomato based dip - the bread was very fresh, and the dip flavourful.

img7603copyhr7.jpg

DBF's Minestrone Soup - he loved this, said it was very tasty!

img7605copyex6.jpg

My tomato and mozzarella appetizer - I love this app and this is the best version of it I have had. Tomatoes were perfectly ripe, red onion was a great addition, and there was just the right amount of dressing.

img7609copyoz1.jpg

We both went for the steak and loved it. I am more of a filet kinda girl, but this was really tender and not much fat - if any - at all. Neither of us were too keen on the butter, but the potatoes were really good.

img7610copyeu5.jpg

DBF's Tiramisu - He absolutely loves tiramisu and said this was outstanding.

img7611copysp6.jpg

My Amaretto Cheesecake - I don't really like Amaretto but I really fancied cheesecake at the time - I love cheesecake! You could definately taste the amaretto, but the cheesecake itself was sooo good, it was really creamy and smooth.

Service was good too! We are most certainly returning next year!!

Thanks for the info. :) We're eating at Tony's for the 1st time in May. I'm not a picky eater at all, but there are things I prefer over others. Basically, I'm a carb addict. :o I love pasta with cream, white wine, or butter sauce. I'm not as big of fan of any type of tomato sauce, nor am I into eating beef often. If there's not a pasta dish that looks yummy to me, I know I'll love the cheese flatbread. :thumbsup2
