Tony's? Is it really bad? really?

We have gon to Tony's once...last minute change while we were already at the parks and I had no idea it gets bad reviews ~ so I went in open minded. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had, but it was good. And it was the best service we had during our entire trip.

We have eaten at Tony's many times and have always enjoyed it :yay: My daughter always has the chicken parm and loves it while I have had some great steaks there :woohoo:

We ended up eating at Tony's for my DD's 4th birthday when we had a DxDP spot to fill. I had low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. We also had a table in the sun room and it was light and cheerful with a view of Main Street. I can't remember what we ordered (except for the carrots):

But it was not memorably bad, so we must have enjoyed it. I would go back again, if I wasn't trying to eat all different places when I go.

We LOVE IT. We go for the experience and the service. We have had two of our best meals in Disney the two times we have dined there.

The food is not the most amazing, however, the atmosphere, and the service more than made up for it, for us.

Once we ate on the porch during the electric parade, and January 13th, we ate there for our anniversary (husband's choice) and had AMAZING service that made our special night perfect.

We went and the food was BAD! I got spagetti and meatballs and my husband got chicken parm. The rolls were a few days old, the sauce was terrible, and the meatballs were really bad. I didn't finish my meal. And it was expensive which made me hate it more. I am glad to hear other people had better experiences! But ours was pretty bad. This was the only bad meal we have ever had at Disney, we are not normally that picky.

I hope its not as bad as some of the reviews.......we have an ADR for our trip in May nad my wife is looking so forward to eating ...she is a HUGE Lady & The Tramp fan!!! Fingers Crossed!!!!!

It's not that bad! I will say it with my last dying breath :lmao:

If your wife loves lady and the tramp, she will love it. If she is going for the most amazing food ever.. not so much :rotfl:

I have an ADR at Tony's in a couple weeks, which is why I was reading this thread, BUT what I really wanted to say is . . .

I  the photo in your signature. I hope the two of you have many, many happy years together.

No matter what the restaurant at WDW, there will be scores of people who hate it. Ohanas, Le Celliar, Coral Reef, San Angel and on and on, they've all had many here say it was their worst ever. People have different tastes.

We enjoy Tony's every trip. We've always had excellent food and great service. The servers are great at making suggestions that deviate from the menu items especially for picky kids.

Tony's gets consistently poor ratings here on the DIS. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

I'm going to add another bad review. We went for dinner and I was looking forward to it. I had read both good and bad reviews to get a balanced view and from a few places not just here on the dis. So we decided on balance that it was worth giving a go.

I have to say it is one of the worst meals we have had. Our waitress was rude to the point of hovering at the end of the meal to see what tip she was getting. I have posted about this before.

DH had the calimari and he said it was ok but not great, for main he had some sort of seafood pasta which was swimming in a greasy tomato sauce. I had the soup which was just blah I have had better from a can. I then had the much talked up chicken parm, it was again in a greasy sauce and the chicken was burnt and greasy. It was horrible makes me gag even thinking about it. Both of us left disappointed.

What made it worse was that the other staff we could see in other sections were being so fun and friendly, granted people have bad days and if you don't want to be chatty fine but at least be polite.

It really is going to depend on where your family normally dines....this is no way or shape suppose to upset anyone...My family and I do not like Tony's...we consider it like The Olive Garden..and we would NEVER dine at The Olive Garden....My husband is Italian and we are from NY..my husband cooks and we enjoy fine Italian food. When we tried Tony's because of it's location and Theme..we weren't disappointed we figured it would be bad compared to the normal Italian food we eat...The sauce at Tony's was VERY watered down and the food was bland with little flavor....Have fun whatever you decide :)

We thought it was just ok, not the worst restaurant in the world, but not on my do again list.

Im pretty picky when it comes to food. I am not a adventurous eater. We had dinner here in September. It was just ok, Ive definitly had MUCH better Italian food before but it was edible. I had Chicken Parm. I would go but dont expect a AMAZING dinner !

omg i could have written this! We had the exact same meals and also hated it. It was awful. I tried my son's meatball and couldnt swallow it. It was that bad! My chicken parm was pretty bad too. The marinara is awful! No way in heck i'd go back!

I came here for the convenient location and cause i love lady & the tramp. Huge disappointment. There's nothing about this place that screams lady/tramp. Oh wait, there's a statue in the middle of the restaurant, but thats all! The atmosphere is cold and uninviting. just awful. But the food was much worse than the atmosphere. If you want good italian food, go to via napoli or tutto italia. If you go to Tony's, i really hope you have a good experience there. Good luck!

Our waitress was rude to the point of hovering at the end of the meal to see what tip she was getting.

Many here on DIS have gotten bad servers at just about all WDW restaurants at one time or another. Our worst was at Via Napoli where the waiter ran outside after we had left yelling that we had not left enough for tip. We've consistently had excellent service at Tony's. Food has always been good.

As a New Yorker I wont wast my money , I hade it once never again but that just my oppion.. I would odrer have delivery to the hotel for on of the local Italian restaurant it a much better meal lol then TONY's
