I have read somewhere that there is an area where you can watch SpectroMagic from Tony's. I know that Tony's has rec'd some less than sterling reviews but our kids want to eat there...so we have ADRs for our trip in Oct. :confused3 We have a ressie for 5:30 and Spectro will start at 8 pm.
My questions are these:
If there is a place to view Spectro at Tonys? Is it a good view?
Do you have to be eating right up to 8 or can you hang around (after your meal) until 8?
Should I change my time from 5:30 to a bit later; say 6:15 or 6:30?
Is the food as bad as I have read?

Thanks in Advance for your help and advice.

I read here that if you request a patio table, you can see Spectro. I made a 7 p.m. ADR, but I plan to arrive a bit early to put in that patio table request. I hope others can give us more info - we haven't eaten here before either, and from the reviews here, it doesn't sound like the food will be great. It does sound like a fun new way to see Spectro though. We will be seeing it three or four times during our trip b/c it is my favorite thing at WDW! I thought this would be a neat way to see it one time. I think that you do have to be eating on the patio at the time of the parade in order to actually be able to view it from Tony's. I don't think they allow you to come back like at CG for Wishes. Not 100% sure about that, but that is what I gathered. Can't wait to hear more!

I am in the minority on this board in that I have never been disappointed with Tony's. Although we always go for lunch...not dinner, so I can't answer your specific question. I can tell you that it would be difficult to watch spectro from their patio unless you were right at the edge/nearest the road as it would be hard to look over those who were sitting there, etc. especially for kiddos. There are so many good spots to watch spectro, i wouldn't take the chance on doing it from here unless someone gives you a stellar review on the sitelines.

I've done both dinner and lunch at Tony's and lunch is SOO much better, I can't even tell you. You'll need to have a later ADR time, like 7PM or so. You'll also have to request an patio table, as there aren't many the chances of you getting one is slim. Again, make the 7pm ADR time and show up early, restate your patio table preference and be prepared to wait. They won't let you linger at your table after your finished so you can see Spectro and there is nowhere else to view it, unless you want to stand on the sidewalk right outside.

Sunday Aug. 5th, for lunch and it was pretty good actually! I have read a few negative reviews and was really impressed.:thumbsup2 I had the Spaghetti and Meatballs which was enough for 2.:thumbsup2

I've only had lunch at Tony's but I was very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. We had a mixed green salad & calamari as an appetizer, I think my daughter had carrots, celery & cheese. Hubby & I had spaghetti & meatballs and the Salmon. DD had plain spaghetti. We were all really happy with our choices. For dessert we had tiramisu, cheesecake and an ice cream sundae. We loved the experience so much that we're doing it again in Septemer.

I can't comment on the view to watch Specto, but I know Tony's is booked up for dinner teh nights we're in town. I'm guessing that's why.
