Is this a restaurant that one would probably need an advanced reservation for? My DH is named Tony :) so for obvious reasons I think it'd be fun to go here. I'd just rather not be tied down to a specific time if we didn't have to be.

Also, anything specific there that we should get?

Tony's is a great place with a great location and if your going in any busy time of the year, yes to ADR's.

FYI, the food quality is not the best for the most-part. It's hit or miss.

I hope you and Tony have a hit!

Yes. Tony's is one of the few table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom so I would definitely make a reservation. I understand about not wanting to be tied down, but if you want to eat there you should make a reservation as there is no guarantee that it will accept walk ups.

In general, in DW if there is any restaurant you really want to eat at, you should make a reservation.

If you want to eat at a restaurant in the MK you should probably make a reservation. There are only five TS restaurants there, and lots of guests on the dining plan.

If you really must eat there, yes, definitely make a reservation.

If you're willing to consider someplace else, anywhere else, make a reservation there instead. Tony's is pretty horrid.

I have ate at Tony's numerous times and the food has always been good. I would highly suggest making a reservation if you are planning on eating there, everytime I've been it has been very crowded

Yes to this:thumbsup2

Tony's sometimes gets a bad rap, but DH and I have eaten there several times and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere very much. I also would recommend a reservation. Good luck!

We were there on our last trip. It was crazy busy with a huge line, so I would recommend an ADR for sure. We didn't think the food was that good, by nicer Italian restaurant standards. It's more like an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill than anything, in our opinion.

Is the food really that bad? Also, would you suggest eating there for lunch or dinner?

My family and I have ate there and thought it was pretty yummy. I would make a reservation for sure. When we were there it was pretty busy and we did lunch. If you time it right you can be there at parade time and they have outdoor seating and window seating. Enjoy!

Definitely a reservation would be needed at most times. We ate there on Dec 23rd for lunch. We had not been able to get reservations there on earlier trips. All 5 of us really enjoyed our appetizers, entrees and desserts. We had a wonderful server, Casey. We had a late lunch so then just went outside and had perfect viewing for the 3:00 parade.

I have eaten at Tony's when they were taking walk ups - and it was absolutely crazy there! Not sure how long the wait was since we had an ADR. As for the food - it was ok. I thought is was a bit overpriced but what isn't in WDW?? :rotfl:

We have eaten at Tony's many times and have never been disappointed :yay: I have had wonderful steaks there too :woohoo:

We have been there several times and have always enjoyed our meal and atmosphere. We have always made reservations because there was always a line.

^ Those. :thumbsup2

We have eaten lunch and dinner at Tony's. DH and I thought lunch was better. Their gelato was delicious. The zucchini fries were good, too.

Tony's is a fine place to eat. The key word here is context. I don't think many folks expect an upper end gourmet experience in the MK. I like their steaks. DW enjoys the spaghetti.

I'll give you another plus vote for Tony's. Fine food for the venue. We are making ADR's for July as a matter of fact. The last few times we were there it was very busy, so I would make an ADR.

If you do a little research on Tony's, you'll see it has mostly less than stellar reviews. We ate there in September. I had the spaghetti and meatballs which was fair - rather plain and bland, but not bad. My BF had the steak which came with potatoes and he thought it was good but it was small. We laughed saying that had we not been on DDP, we would have paid $30 for that . So, not a bad meal but nothing to write home about. Not a TS place we will repeat until we've tried them all.

Our ADR was for 5pm on a Saturday and they were taking walk-ups at that time. We were seated instantly, and there were many open tables. I heard the CM out front telling people they were taking walk-ups as well. I would still make an ADR to be on the safe side but if you can't get one, don't rule it out and try checking as a walk-up either before or after prime dinner time.
