You have to have DING downloaded to get the specials. It's only good to 11pm CST.

I have no idea what a DING special is, Cabmom, but I recently booked flights for my DH and I on Southwest. They had/have a $49 one-way internet special on, so I jumped on it! It'll be our first time flying with Southwest, and I still can hardly believe I got the 2 fares, all charges included, for $230.00 US, approx. $283.00 Cdn. I paid more than double that for my own flight down to WDW last month. Woohoo!!!!

We decided it was worth it to drive from Halifax to Manchester NH and fly Southwest from there for our trip in August. For 5 of us, even with gas/hotel/parking, we figure we're going to save around $700/$800.

The sad thing is that the base fare before taxes is not that much lower than the base fare you'd get from Halifax, but the taxes just kill in Canada.

So the obvious next question...how far a drive is it to Manchester? We were looking at some of the JetBlue fares from BOS, and for $69.00 O/W, it's VERY tempting to squeeze in a spring trip...

Deb, yes, it's US$115.40 per person for the flight, return. I have the same rate for the May long weekend. This is for non-stop flights. Some flight times include a stop and plane change (Baltimore for example) and there is a slight increase in the final fare due to airport taxes at the stop over point.

I also had the same rate for my February trip and it worked out to about CA$144. based on the exchange rate then.

Go to the southwest website, click "Book Travel" and play around with dates, choose some flights to bring up the cost page, to give you an idea.

I believe I used my own zip code when I installed DING, however I sometimes put in 14228 which is Amherst/Buffalo area.
I also got $115 for the May long weekend! I can't wait

I did see Buffalo/Tampa for $94/each way for June 17 to August 22. Just trying to help out those people looking for summer fares!

My son paid almost $600 on air transat last april for a return flight to meet the rest of us in wdw. I can't believe these prices.

If I flew, cause I have never flown I would have to have the non stop, or I would be afraid that I would not get back on the plalne and be stuck somewhere with a very angry husband, lol.

Wow that really makes me think, that is so affordable.

Yes Deb, that's the total charge for the 2 flights roundtrip, all charges included, non-stop. A great price!

This a.m. the buf-mco flight special are back on ding...and this time my flight was available so i got an extra $71 credit to use towards next trip!

That means i have paid $156 USD return for 2 of us after i used previous credit!!

Well now with that SWA credit and an AP that doesn't expire until Sept of course I need to squeeze in a 4th trip this year, it's only logical!!! (at least to me)!

How far a drive is it to Manchester, NH from the East Coast or to Boston? My daughter needs to fly (Fredericton) in December and I have checked every possible airline (looks like Westjet or Canjet to be cheapest) but you have to stop in Toronto (yuk). Non-stop flights are so much better but I can't find ANY.

which is 1.5 hours from Moncton...
which is 2.5 hours from Truro..
which is 2.5 hours from Us!!

Doesn't seem so far, now!! LOL!

I called SW, because to download Ding! you have to give your home airport...postal codes won't fit...Manchester's zip code is 03103.

How does this work for canadians? I tired my postal code and it wouldn't take it. I put in 12345 and it worked and chose my home airport as Detroit does anyone know an actual Detroit zip code though in case it doesn't work. And well SWA think it's odd if you give a Canadian address? Thanks Kat
