:umbrella: What is it about DTD and rain? It seems like every time we spend an afternoon there it rains! I love all the cute shots around the shops; looking forward to reading more.

I loooove that Minnie apron! I'm totally getting one when I go to DTD! Great update, as usual!

I know, I didn't really think about it when I was there but after seeing the picture I really want one now!!!

I can understand the fear of thunderstorms because I had an accident as a child. My parents tell me that I loved them before that, but now, two-plus decades later, I'm still terrified.

We got stuck in a storm at DTD too, and god, that rain! It went almost two inches up! But I don't blame you, I'd still run from store to store. Once you're wet, you're wet! :lmao:

What is it that she's doing that takes her so long to get ready?! :rotfl:

Ohhh well I can see why you would be. I love them though. My mom is scared of everything. As far as my cousin, she gets a shower, then she comes out of the shower and washes her face in the sink which I don't understand why she didn't do that in the shower, then she drys her hair, then she curls her hair, sprays her hair, puts on make up, puts on here clothes, curls her hair more and sprays it more. Then when we are about to leave she checks the mirror again and sprays some more...LMAO :rotfl2:

Oh what cute towels! And I want that apron!!!

I want the apron now too!!!

Love the apron and mickey oven mitts....

Cant wait for the next installment

I will work on it soon. Its starting to wind down now :(

I want that apron too!!!

:rotfl2: I think everyone does!! Me too!

LOL. This was the first time it has rained when I was there. It was fun though. I got good pics of the storm..LOL. Plus I got to play in the store.

Aww thank you so much!!! I will have a new update Monday! Its actually pretty fun to write! Its like I am doing my trip over again! :lmao:

Second thoughts on second dress!!!!!!!!

I am having second thoughts over my New Jersey reception dress. I am thinking I want another. I sort of felt forced getting that one because my FMIL didn't think I should wear anything too dressy and my DF felt the same way. I just dont feel right in it at all. I am going to David's Bridal Sunday to pick out my Matron of Honors dress so I think I may be getting another dress....lol. :lmao:

do what you feel is comfortable for you..... I am going through something similar with my veil...

Well you definately want to be comfortable!! It's a wedding reception! Wear a dress you like. What about your Disney Dress? Would you want to wear that one again?

Don't be dissing my dress girl! But seriously, I totally understand your issues. It is a WAY different style than your wedding dress. I say if you're having second thoughts, find a different one! It wasn't that expensive, and you can always sell it on ebay or something. I think it would be good to wear your actual wedding dress!! Get as much use out of it as possible!!! Wear it around the house!!

Makes me think of that Friends episode where Rachel and Monica were just chillin on the couch in wedding dresses. :rotfl:

I would LOVE to wear my disney dress but my FMIL thinks it would be TOO much. Bobby is wearing a suit so I guess it would be but I still want something a little poofy...LOL. I am a big poofy dress kind of girl. :lmao:

I wasn't into the idea of wearing my wedding dress again, but in the end after several requests from some of my cousins who weren't coming to Florida I wore it again (amidst objections from other family members who thought it would be too much!)

Guess what? Our guests loved it; I had so many people say that they were hoping I was going to wear my dress again and they were happy that they got to see me in it! I did end up changing into another dress towards the end of the reception, but I kept on my wedding gown for 75% of the evening. DH only wore a suit to the reception too, we had him wear a black suit and a white tie, so it was close to the tux he wore at the wedding.

ummm...who the hell cares what the FMIL thinks is TOO much?? You are the bride. It is YOUR reception. I say wear it to spite her. Nothing like starting off on the right foot huh?? :rotfl: I'm sorry but the whole idea of other people deciding what is right for YOU is just ridiculous. I adore my FMIL...but if she said something like that...I'd be like "uhhhh and why should I care what you want me to wear???"

Oh wow! That sounds similar to me then. I guess I could. I would hate to spend money on another dress if I have a perfectly good one that I spent a bunch of money on already! I will have to pass this along to my DF!

LOL. I think my problem is I feel obligated to listen since she is paying for it. I should just be like oh well, I mean how many times am I going to be able to wear a dress like that!

AMEN IS RIGHT! :worship:

Oh yeah, if you want to wear your dress again, then WEAR IT!! Who cares about MIL!

BTW - if you cave on this, you'll be bowing to her every whim for ever!! Stand up to MIL now!! ;)

She is paying for the reception, not the dress. You're not asking for uber expensive, overly elaborate centerpieces....you want to wear your wedding dress to your wedding reception. This is not a ridiculous request. If this reception was directly after your wedding...this wouldn't even be an issue. Why is it any different for an at home reception?? People who couldn't make it to the wedding will WANT to see you in your wedding dress!!

Do you need me to call your FMIL and tell her what's up??!!:maleficen

As the french say, "wow le!". since when does the MIL get the final say in what YOU wear to your OWN reception? I say wear the disney dress! Wear it as many times as humanly possible. I'm not taking mine off for at least 3 days after I get married ;) Honey, you can;t wear something that you aren't going to be comfortable in. It's a joyous occasion and you need to be happy and mingle etc. you don't need to be worrying about hating the dress your MIL forced you to wear.

I think Vanessa made a great point. There will probably be a bunch of people hoping to see you in your wedding dress. I mean- Isn't that what you talk about before the ceremony starts? Wondering what the Bride looks like. I almost want an at home reception so I can wear my dress again. :)
