I've read on here for years how good Tonga Toast is so my daughter and I have decided to try if during our trip in December.

Is it big enough to share? We plan to share a lot of meals on our trip.

I would say YES, i found it way too big to eat by myself. It is very sweet so i think that played a roll in how much i could eat at breakfast time. Since it also comes with a protein you should be good to go. But i guess that all depends on how much you normally eat in the morning??

I just snagged an image to see if you can get an idea of how big it is ...

cut open

Definitely big enough to share, at least in the opinions of lots of people, although not so much because of the sheer volume of food, but because of what it is -- i.e., a fairly massive and rich slab of bread, stuffed with bananas and covered in cinnamon/sugar. I have tackled it myself (and won), but it can be too much of the same bite over and over again for some people, so sharing tends to be a favored approach to this item. Toss in an extra side of bacon or potatoes, etc., and you'd easily be fine.

It's great for sharing, my sister and I can split one and both be full! We like to eat it with dole whip too ;)

Thank you! And thank you for the pictures! We'll definitely be sharing.

Yes, my 16 year old and I routinely share this, we get an extra side of meat (usually bacon with the tonga toast and a side of sausage), then split the tonga toast. This works out fine for us every time.

Like others have said, yes. Definitely big enough to share. My daughter and I typically order a sweet entrée (tonga toast) and a savory breakfast (usually the Samoan - yum!) and we share them. YUM!

You can definitely see the size here.

We don't get meat, but get a side of eggs, which helps us "cut" the carbs a bit LOL. Even then with the two adults sharing we're far too stuffed by the time we finish it. Hopefully next time we get it DS will decide to share, and then we'll all feel good by the end of breakfast. :)

As the server said when she put it on the table..."here's your half a loaf of bread!"

It is also served at Captain Cook's without the sides, at a reduced price.

I've asked this a couple of times but haven't seen an answer. Has anyone had the Tonga Toast since the Captain Cooks remodel? I was listening to a WDW radio episode from a few weeks ago and the host said it's no longer on the menu since the remodel, but I keep reading it is elsewhere. Can anyone confirm? We're making a special trip to the Poly just to have this and if I need reservations for the table service I should probably make the now.

Disney Parks Blog announcing the remodeled location has a picture of the menu, including Tonga Toast: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-debuts-at-disneys-polynesian-village-resort/

Seeing those pictures make me want it again. For a thin guy, I'm a huge eater...and the Tonga Toast was a very good portion, definitely big enough for two! Also, I'd recommend the Lilikoi juice....sooooo good.
