Tonga Toast??

We had Tonga Toast last year at Captain Cook's at the Poly (CS) and were unimpressed. Much too sweet. Looking at these pictures though it appears to be totally different at the TS. We are eating at Kona Cafe for dinner. I wonder if they would let us have Tonga Toast for dinner.:rotfl:

Is it true you can ask for it at O'Hanas breakfast and they will bring it to your table? I've read that somewhere on these boards...

Like others who posted, the bananas are stuffed into the bread, but not mashed.

I got this to go from Captain Cook's in May, and it was DELICIOUS! Never have I enjoyed a breakfast dish that much. And maybe I'm odd, but I didn't even think it was all that sweet, and I get sick if I eat a whole piece of cake or more than a scoop of ice cream. As skinny as I am, I ate almost the whole thing; would've eaten it all except I was saving room for lunch. Shocked my dad since he's a good eater and only could eat about half of it. :rotfl:

For me, the CS portion at Capt Cooks was just right.

I'm not sure I could handle the entire plate at Kona. Besides, I'd miss out on my absolute fave: Macadamia Nut Pancakes!

OMG! Your making me hungry. I can't wait to get the Tonga toast again! Yummy!

It looks interesting. I may have to get a piece to share with my brother and sister while we are there.

Thanks for all the info... I called this morning and got a Breakfast adr for Next Thursday im taking my DD out for for a day alone to celebrate her b-day. I Hope its as good as I think its going to be, but at the same time im scared if I get addicted I only live 15 minutes away and might have to go there everyday:goodvibes

SOOOO GOOD. Everyone here said it was really rich, but I took a few bites and it wasn't too bad, so I ended up eating the WHOLE thing! BAD IDEA, an hour later I felt soo sick :( So, DEFINITELY ORDER IT, BUT SPLIT IT OR DON'T EAT THE WHOLE THING!!!!

I think the Tonga Toast looks delicious, the only problem is trying to fit another breakfast into our already packed dining plans.

oh thank you for the pictures - now I'm starving! I cannot wait to introduce my kids to tonga toast for the first time this December! One of my fondest Disney memories as a child is leaving the Caribbean Beach on that perfect "Disney morning", watching the hot air balloons overhead as we headed to the Kona cafe (Can I add that my dog's name is Kona?) and having Tonga Toast. Cannot wait to do it again, with my children this time!

I heard the same thing and we will be having bfast at Ohana in Sept. It would kill me to be that close to Tonga Toast and not have it.

I split an order of Tonga Toast and an order a Macademia Nut Pancakes with Pineapple topping with someone. Pancakes won hands down for both of us.

I'm making a special trip in Oct to Kona for breakfast. Those pancakes are calling my name.

We also did that on our last visit. I love them both and cannot wait to have them again. I also noticed that Boatwright's at POR serves Tonga Toast as well. It is called Banana-stuffed French Toast.

I cannot wait until December!!

Okay -
I just made my DH PROMISE that he would order the pancakes and I'll order the Tonga toast. I have to try both!!
Maybe I should add another ADR.......
