Tonga Toast??

oh thank you for the pictures - now I'm starving! I cannot wait to introduce my kids to tonga toast for the first time this December! One of my fondest Disney memories as a child is leaving the Caribbean Beach on that perfect "Disney morning", watching the hot air balloons overhead as we headed to the Kona cafe (Can I add that my dog's name is Kona?) and having Tonga Toast. Cannot wait to do it again, with my children this time!

Never had it, that's why I'm asking the pp who mentioned it. So far, my stomach isn't big enough to fit one, but I'm sure I'll work on that once I get started on my WDW dining!

When we went in April DH had the tonga toast and I had the mac pineapple pancakes and they were both amazing but the pancakes were richer than the TT!

The toast is bad. I was so happy to try it and wow not so good.. It is nothing more than sugar toast with bananas in the inside... And don't put the syrup on you will go into a diabetic shock... I would rather have regular style french toast with fruit topping any day than tonga Toast.... My dining exp was great besides the food.. I ate at kona , waitress was great, got right in , not crowded, quick service , but ughhh I wish I ordered something else..

We love the Tonga Toast, but nobody in our house can eat a whole order on their own, its just too sweet. DS has the recipe and makes it at home and it essentially requires you to deep fry the thing in oil, so that is why the bananas are mushy on the outside. Definitely a must if you haven't tried it before.

My husband likes bananas and he took some of them out, which can be an option if necessary. He loved it!

Ahhhh, got it. I somehow missed the post before your post. I thought that there was some dish served at breakfast called "hot air balloons". I was imagining something like beignets.
