Has anyone tried it out IRL? I want to give it a shot tomorrow morning, but I'm trying to figure out how the banana stays inside the bread when you place it in the oil to fry...

We've made it before! It is soooo good...
It DOES take a LOT of time, and probably the first couple won't turn out the best.
You need to cut the bread thick, and make a pocket. The bananas stay in fine if you don't over stuff them.
Also, If you are looking to cut a few calories (HA!) This dish works well using a Splenda/cinnamon mix and the best sugarfree syrup is Mrs Buttersworth.
(Can you tell I have a diabetic in the family?)

Allow yourself PLENTY of clean oil, and lots of time! This is NOT a dish to make before Sunday Services!

Good Luck!

I can never find the right bread for this recipe! :( I end up just making very unhealthy "french toast"
