Seaspray, that looks amazingly good. Maybe, I need to go eat breakfast. Question. you say, it is not that sweet, the pancakes. So, did you use syrup? Oh my goodness. I wish I was at Kona's now.
I don't use maple syrup on the Tonga Toast or on the Macadamia Pineapple pancakes. I really like the enjoy the flavors of each of them, without the syrup. Even at home, I only put maple syrup on plain or blueberry pancakes, not any other kind (chocolate chip, peach, etc).
With the Macadamia Pineapple pancakes, I spread out the butter (sometimes the butter is "macadamia nut butter" and other times it's been plain regular butter) over the pancakes, then I spread the pineapple topping, too. So with each bite you get some of the pineapple; inside the pancakes are small, tender pieces of macadamia nut, so you get that in each bite, too. (Is this a little TMI in the ways of eating pancakes?? LOL).
