TOMORROWLAND NOODLE STATION CLOSING: According to a report posted on the WDWMagic Discussion Forums, the new Tomorrowland Noodle Station is expected to close for three weeks between May 22 and June 12. It is undetermined as to whether the menu will change or not.

****snip****

I hope they don't close the seating area but I am thinking they will....that terrace is a nice place to relax and look at the castle.

We ate there a few weeks ago, and while I generally love this type of food, it left a lot to be desired. Everything had an odd aftertaste. Hopefully, they improve it (or maybe we were just there on a bad day).

I agree that the food wasn't all that good, but I will really be annoyed if they close the seating area. I love grabbing a cool drink (their Peach n' Ginger Iced Tea was great) and gazing at the castle from that location.

Dang! I was planning on eating there on Wednesday the 1st; guess I'd better sit down with the menus and pick another counter service place for my MK meal!

Yup, I would suggest The Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square or the Pecos Bill Cafe / El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurant right at the Frontierland/Adventureland bend. Some of my fav counter stops.

What the hey! This place just opened a couple months ago and they are already closing it? I mean I can understand some DISers have been here and can form an opinion, but they can't have had enough people to really get good feedback (good or bad) to close it up again can they? I was really looking forward to trying this place...it looked interesting and different. Well, we are there on June 22 so I hope it will be open, in whatever format they have.

Where is it and when did it open?

Anyone have any pics of the place?

Thanks for any and all info. :)

Someone on wdwmagic said the reason its closing temporarily is due to lack of staffing. The college program ended last week I think so a lot of college program kids won't be there to work.

We thought the food was really good, I especially liked the pot stickers. I get sick of burgers and chicken strips so I thought the noodles was a nice change.

Here's a pic of our lunch there:

I can see them changing the menu. We were there for the past two weeks and every time we walked by there was maybe 20 people eating there at peak lunch hours. I think they made a big mistake by changing the menu in the first place.

When I was there the first week of May we walked past there several times at lunch time and only a handful of people were eating there. I personally didn't eat there so I can not make a judgement of the food quality. We walked past there and past cosmic rays and that placed was packed!!! So maybe it is the type of food people are not crazy about.

This is just MY own opinion.

I am replying to several comments from above:

1) If they can't keep it open because they dont have enough staff (college or otherwise) then that is sad. It's one thing to close down a little vendor cart due to lack of staffing, which I still think is bad, but to close down one of the biggest "mass" eateries in the MK due to lack of staffing is very bad.

2) About a menu change. This could be the case. I doubt they are simply making the food "better" because that wouldnt take a closing. They simply would bring in better food or make the current food better. They may be making a menu change, doesn't matter to me either way. I like them both, sort of liked the pizza they had before though. I think the current food is a little healthier though, so I think I'd like the new food.

Someone also said something about them not having enough feedback yet to make this decision to Possibly change. Well unlike attractions or things like that, with food sometimes, if not most times money tells the story. If business is bad, that's your feedback.

3) Someone mentioned they never saw more than 20 people there, which I agree with. When we went during the spring break time, which was hectic, it was not NEARLY as crowded as it was when they had the old menu there.

*The seating was packed but very few were eating from there. Many were from the ice cream parlor or other vendors or eating their own food, or just sitting around.

*While I understand prices will be higher at WDW, I think even with raised prices, the Noodle stand prices were high for the portion you got. I wouldnt have any problems paying those prices for higher portions. My wife and I were excited to eat there again after paying so much for so little. Also the food, whicl good, is probably less tasteful than an outside place serving the same thing.

I like the food there now as it is healthier but I agree with another poster that I never saw a long line of people unlike before. I like that Disney has changed it however because other than the pizza there, you could buy the other things at every other place.
