Never really paid any attention to this but now I'm looking for something we haven't done before to surprise DH. Can anyone tell me there experiences with this, how much it costs, are there tables to sit at etc. was it wort it, were there a lot of people? Thanks!

We went a couple years ago! Cost was around $160 for 6. Yes your table is reserved for you. Ours was on the railing the view was fabulous! Sweets were fantastic! I highly recommend it!!

This has become a must do for us. No fighting for a spot to see Wishes 2 hours before. It's assigned seating with all you can eat deserts and drinks.

We loved it, one of my favorite nights at WDW. Very relaxing. Everyone should do it once! Go for it if you can get the ADR.

Absolutely worth it even if you don't eat the dessert in our opinion, but they are a nice bonus! It is wonderful to relax and enjoy Wishes without fighting hundreds of people. Our table was in the first row under the "roof" and had a perfect view of the castle show before Wishes, and we could have stayed for Wishes if we wanted, but we moved up the railing with most people when Wishes started. Tinkerbell flew directly over our heads which was fun.

The dessert buffet is great and the cast members were all VERY nice. Our only problem was completely our fault and we got stuck on the wrong side of Main Street when the parade started and ran late for the party, we still had a ton of dessert. FYI, don't a large meal close to the party, there is a TON of food!

We did it last January and are doing it again on our next trip if I can get the ADR. The view is a little off center but overall very good IMO. The desserts weren't really anything to write home about, but were all very edible. I would classify them as good, just not great. Tasted a little mass produced, which I'm sure they are. There was plenty of variety and even my stepdad who doesn't like dessert in general found some stuff to eat.

You have a reserved table, we couldn't have seen the fireworks from our table so we stood at the railing for the actual fireworks. Big mistake my family made was eating dinner too close to the dessert party. Next time we are eating a late lunch instead of a dinner.

I don't remember the price, but whatever it was it was worth it for not having to fight crowds. I hate being bumped into and shoved around.

Here's a picture I took after the fireworks were over and most people were cleared out. It's the best shot I have to portray the view.

Just FYI the dessert party is BEFORE the fireworks. The desserts are put away during the fireworks and the tables are immediately cleared, so don't plan on going back afterwards for more and if you want to take anything with you don't leave it sitting on your table if you aren't there to guard it.

If the fireworks are at 10 p.m., why does the reservations page show an opening at 6 p.m.???

We did it this past summer and it was worth the price for the view. The desserts were not that great. We may do it again for our next trip. I paid $70 for three people (1 adult and two kids).

It just says that. Mine for mid-March says 6:20pm. I think it starts an hour before the fireworks.

I have this booked for our June trip. Just to double check...if Wishes starts at 10pm, we can get there at 9pm? Will we be able to see the parade from where the dessert party is?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We were there in December and it rained; hard. Not a good view with everyone huddled under the overhang. Tink didn't fly, either. Big disappointment for me. Loved the area and place to sit down, desserts were good. Do not do it on a party night, if you're going at a time when they have parties. We did it on our MVMCP night and it ate into our fun time too much.
Do try it, though. Everyone should experience all Disney has to offer once.

You can see the parade but not a great view. There are quite a few trees.

we did it for the Faux NYE fireworks and enjoyed a place to escape the crowds. It did cost more then the regular nights. It did crowded at the rails but we everyone could find a place to view.

We've done this twice, once when it wasn't very well known and more recently in March, 2013. Liked it a bit better the first time since it wasn't near as crowded but both times have enjoyed the experience. The convenience of a table and a reserved place to view fireworks is great. I'm not a big dessert person and didn't really care for what they put out but others in the family enjoyed the food. The second time we went we found it to be a bit hectic because it was more crowded and the dessert line wasn't really well maintained. Still recommended though just for the convenience of having a table.

With regard to the parade, you can see very little of it as there are trees/crowds in the way.

So if I want to watch the parade and go to dessert party, I should do them on separate nights since I need to be at the dessert party when parade is starting? or has anyone watched parade from somewhere nearby then slipped in to dessert party in time to get desserts before fireworks start?

When we do the dessert party, we watch the parade on a separate night. I don't think you would have time to really appreciate the dessert party if you tried to do both in the same night.

I have read that there are a very limited number of seats available for the Dessert party; does anyone know what that number is? Of course I am referring to nights with no special events.
