Tom Selleck stole water!

He can come to Missouri and take all he likes. We'll even fill the tank for him.

Yeah, you guys need to get those river levels down, we're heading out to the Lake at the end of this month! (At least the whole lake isn't still no wake!)

We haven't been on the boat this year. Lake Carlisle had 2 treacherous high water ramps open (no thanks) & nothing else the one time we tried. Even before everything got to flood stage, it rained every weekend :(

Colorado is still all green too, which is amazing for us, hasn't happened in years. But, this is an El Nino year, so if it was winter we'd have 6 feet of snow, I'll take the rain!

I heard about this but then dug a little deeper and apparently it was someone he hired like jdb. He didn't necessarily know about this.

Speaking of the California drought, I'm wondering if they will be prone to even more landslides. From what I understand the shrubbery on the hills basically keeps the dirt from sliding down. Of course all of that is dying. Hopefully they won't get more fires too.

We went the opposite way, people were told to remove their boats and good thing they did. Most of the lake was gone and it even uncovered an old town. It was called Mormon island. He could pay for water to come here.

I guess the part I don't understand about this story (assuming he didn't know the water came from the hydrant) is why he thinks his lawn should be green in the middle of a drought. That's arrogant. It's a DROUGHT. You need to let your grass die.

If he though he was getting water from a legal non-drought source why should he let it die? Just to be PC with the state

I'm on my patio smoking a cigar and hoping the thunder I hear doesn't mean rain here! I've lived here 20 years and don't remember this much rain!

May not have been watering his lawn. Heard in a news report that the property he lives on is an avocado farm. He might have been trying yo keep his trees/bushes? From dying in the drought.

Not condoning it, but sounded like more then green lawn ego.

Although the fact that he was getting cease and desists letters says to me that he knew there were problems and saying 'he didn't know' doesn't quite fly.

It wasn't for his lawn. He owns an avocado farm and hired a company to bring in the water for it.

When someone is tried and convicted of something (or even admits to doing what they're accused of), then maybe I'll make personal judgments on their character. I've known too many liars in my day to believe any accusation and this is still America: Innocent until proven guilty.
