Is Tom's island closed? I heard Aunt Polly's is closed, but what about the islad itself?

The island reopened from rehab before Christmas. Not sure if Aunt Polly's is open yet.

Is the island worth visiting?? We have never made it there however we have three girls and are Canadian and sorry to say, but Tom Sawyer is not a staple in Canadian literature so they really do not even know who he is.

So what is on it that would draw our attention?

It is full of caves and if I remember right a little fort as well- lots of hiding places and jumpy bridges. It is a good place to go if the parks are hot and crowded. It is like a little break- it is very well shaded. This is our break spot on those torture days of crowds and heat. Aunt Polly's is one that we have never tried though. May have to this time.

The island is awesome! But the raft ride over, is something else. We were there in pretty low attendance and were packed onto the raft like sardines. I was holding my then 18 mo old and was bumped and pushed so much I almost dropped him once! :crowded:
